even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You,

that they also may be in Us,

so that the world may believe that You sent Me.”

Encouragement – Moments of Hope – “A Single Mother’s New Beginning”

I heard another report of VBS this week.  This one was at Kedron.  What a blessing VBS is to our children and grandchildren!  I’m so thankful for the efforts of people in all our area churches to give their all to VBS each summer.

Upcoming Camps – FBC, Kentwood

Centri- Kid at Milsaps – July 8-12

XFUGE at Houston – July 22-26

Now is a good time to pray for the youth and adults attending camps.  Pray for those participating in camp leadership who will guide our young people.  What an awesome experience for all!

Third Thursday Meeting – Tonight at our cabin at 6:30.  Everyone is invited.

Prayer Meeting (last night) – Thanks to James Rimes for leading.  The lesson on obedience was presented well, even if all the notes were in the other maroon Bible.  We are blessed with Godly men who are willing to share at any given opportunity.

Continue to be obedient to God and make a difference in lives “wherever you are planted”.

Apology – Yesterday afternoon, I realized I did not “publish” The Prayer Link when it was completed.  I’m sorry.  I suppose I was thinking about what was going to happen with VBS yesterday.  I will get this published right away.

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The VBS program at FBC, Kentwood was wonderful, as usual.  You can’t get boring or sad when you put children on stage at a church.  We thank those who joined us from other churches and hope VBS was as meaningful to you as it was for us.  The offering given during VBS will be sent to aid in Disaster Relief in Oklahoma.

Robbie Lynn is slowly improving.  Keep the prayers coming.

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.

Do what it says.

Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and,

after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it —

not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it —

they will be blessed in what they do.”

~James 1:22-25 NIV~

Pray for Marty Simpson as he meets with the cardiologist today to get the results of yesterday’s tests.

Pat Hoosier

PLEASE say a prayer for my dad!! He was supposed to start chemo today but his magnesium levels are not going up they are going to run some more test and do a CT scan. They are planning to move his chemo to next week. God has his hand on my hand and I believe it will be okay!! I have faith in him!!!

Melissa Hoosier Liberto

Amber Prine Ragan

We received a good report today from Amber’s doctor at MD Anderson. Blood work results were good, which shows that her body is tolerating the chemo at this time. The MRI shows that Amber is recovering from surgery as expected. She has been experiencing some shooting pains in the area of the surgery over the past week. They feel this is due to nerves that may have been damaged during the surgeryand will heal in time. She is scheduled to return back to Houston in four weeks for another follow-up. If all goes well, they will release her to start seeing an oncologist closer to home. Dr. DeGroot told us that he only knew of one neuro-oncologist in Louisiana and he is located in Baton Rouge. His name is Jon Olsen and he has already agreed to take Amber on as a patient once she is released from MDA. He will be able to manage her chemo treatment and future MRIs. She will still return back to MDA 3-4 times a year for follow-up visits. We are so pleased with the results at this time and we know everything is falling in place from all of your prayers and support (and an awesome medical team). Prayer is powerful and Amber is living proof of that. Please continue to keep my girl in your prayers as she enters her second round of chemotherapy next week.

Love to all….

Kathy (Ree Ree) (Amber’s mother)

Melissa Johnson

Melissa was at the hospital overnight.  Pray she will be strong when they release her.  Pray for her as she will have recovery time and physical therapy to recover from two broken shoulder and surgery.

Missions – VBS – Day 3 at FBC, Kentwood – Time surely passes quickly when you are having fun.  Pray for the older children as Bro. Joey presents the plan of salvation to them today.  Pray for hearts to be open.  Bro. Joey will talk with the ones who makes decisions individually at a later time.  If the children go to another church, he will pass the information on to the pastor of that church.
