Linda Callihan said I can include her in those who read ThePrayerLink every day. I’m so thankful and blessed by all who read my posts.

Saturday’s Workday for OCC went very well. We had fantastic workers. We have been told by a couple people that they planned to be there, but at the last minute had to do something else. I hope you have marked the first Saturday of each month on your calendar. I will be working to get our room back in order and beginning preparations for our next workday. Let me know if you have a couple hours to help at church or at home. I always appreciate volunteer workers.

The last two Sundays I have been blessed with the opportunity to visit in a Sunday School class for a few minutes to share information and to encourage involvement in missions. I’m thankful for the opportunity and look forward to visiting another class next Sunday.

Sunday Afternoon

Please pray for Jim Slaven of Kentwood who is hospitalized at North Oaks. He needs our prayers today.

Please pray for JoEllen Carruth of Greensburg who was airlifted to OLOL this afternoon. She, also, needs our prayers.

Sunday, a Cold One

Consider the blameless,

observe the upright;

a future awaits those who seekpeace.

~Psalm 37:37~

Today, please pray for Mrs. Thelma Pierce from Osyka. She came to the OCC workday yesterday with sample drawstring bags to be used for marbles, little cars, etc. She got some ideas from us, helped us tremendously as we worked, and left to get more drawstring bags ready for us. All this is wonderful, but I must add that she has no vision in her left eye and is almost blind in the other eye now too. Her doctors have said that can happen at any time. Please pray for “Miss” Thelma as she continues to cook in a microwave, work in her garden with the help of her neighbor, Luther Terrell, sew marble bags, etc. Such a busy lady and so worthy of our prayers today.

As you pray for “Miss” Thelma, please add those who are on your own prayer list and the many unspoken prayer requests in our community.

Thanks to those who came and worked on the Operation Christmas Child items for the “shoeboxes”. David and I were thrilled at how successful you were in helping us prepare pencil bags and in preparing items for packing. Think of all the children whose lives will be impacted for God by your efforts.

February OCC Workday – This morning at 9:00 at FBC, Kentwood

You don’t need a ticket, any money, to sing a solo. teach a lesson, lift a heavy weight, or to dress up.

You do need an open heart, a willingness to give of yourself, room in your life for new friends, a love for God, and a love for children and their future. The room and the hearts of the other volunteers will be toasty warm on this cold day. See you at FBC!

Sunday

“The LORD is my strength and my defense ;

he has become my salvation.

He is my God, and I will praise him,

my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

~Exodus 15:2~

This is the day – the Lord’s Day! Don’t think HE doesn’t expect you to give HIM HIS time today. HE loves you and wants to have you spend some time with HIM. HE has so much to teach you! HE knows you need some guidance and purpose for the coming week. HE loves that you give HIM some of your time and will focus on HIM.

This month, January, is almost over. I hope you have been writing a verse each day. That’s surely not too much to expect when you have so much time to do other things. If you missed some days, it’s okay to look back to find the Scriptures you missed and catch up.

READ, WRITE, AND THINK ABOUT A VERSE TODAY.
