Dr. Charles Anthony Cefalu Sr.
Dr. Charles Anthony Cefalu Sr. peacefully passed away at the age of 70 on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at his home, in Slidell, Louisiana. He was born on January 30, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Cefalu loved LSU, his patients, and most importantly, his family. He dedicated most of his years as a physician to caring for the elderly in a way that most wouldn’t understand and providing an incredible life for his family in an insurmountable way. Dr. Cefalu was the son of the late Mary Ann and Nicholas Cefalu Sr. He has eight siblings: Vincent N Cefalu Sr. (Pat), Ursula Cefalu Sherman, Paulette Cefalu Walkwitz (Ed), Nicholas Cefalu Jr., William T. Cefalu (Liz), Joseph M. Cefalu (Julie), Ann Kay Cefalu Logarbo, and Francis J. Cefalu (Connie). Dr. Cefalu is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dr. Jean Erickson Cefalu and his five children: Sarah Herrington (M. Bryce Herrington), Dr. Charles Cefalu Jr. (Amanda Cefalu), Dr. John Cefalu (Alexis Cefalu), Michael Cefalu (Allison Cefalu), and Gregory Cefalu (Citlalic Snell). He has nine grandchildren: Liam, Parker, Connor, Charlie, Emma, Lena, Mary Jean, Lucy, Carson, and one more on the way. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Audubon Funeral Home located at 61101 Highway 11 in Slidell, Louisiana 70458. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Charles A. Cefalu LSUHSC School of Medicine Endowed Professorship in Geriatrics.
