Mrs. Catherine Yarborough has be in and out of the hospital again.  Remember her and her family in your prayers.

Ruthie Dykes is still at Hood Memorial.  She is better, but not ready to go home.

Jeana Lee-Newton, daughter of Ricky and Brenda Russell, will be admitted to the hospital Monday for a very important surgery. Pray for her, the medical staff, and her family.

The VBS program at Kentwood involved many of the children who had been in attendance all week.  It always thrills my heart to be able to teach in Bible school and hopefully plant a “seed” of missions in young hearts.  Thanks to the children for coming, the parents, and the workers at VBS.  New Zion will have their program at 6:00 Sunday night.

Right off my head, I know that Roseland, Spring Creek, and the Lord’s Church will be having VBS next week.  May “seeds”continued to be planted and nurtured.

Wendell Rhodus, youth minister at Oyska and former youth at Kentwood, will be ordained into the ministry at FBC Sunday night at 6 P.M.  You are invited to honor Wendell with your presence and your prayers.

Be alert to sudden changes in the weather for the next few days.  Most of us don’t have to be concerned with flooding, but the lightning and hard rains can cause problems too.

Short-term mission trips: I have a number of friends who will be going on mission trips to various countries in the coming weeks.  Pray for them and those who will be ministered to. Consider going on such a trip one day and begin praying along that line.  In the meantime, contact one of the churches sending our members to learn how you might become a supporter of the ministry.

Scripture WritingIsaiah 40: 18-21

Monday is memorial day.  Remember all the families of military personnel who did not safely return from their service to our country, but who gave their lives for a country they considered great and worthy of a possible sacrifice.  I do not know of anyone in my family, but David had an uncle who gave his life in France in WWII.  Pray for all families who have lost military personnel during their service.  Pray our country will remain strong and worthy of all the sacrifices of these people.

Darbi Tolar’s surgery went well yesterday.  Thank-you for praying for her.  Now, pray for the family as they try to keep her still for a few days.

Jimmy Tolar was able to be back at church Sunday.  It was good to see him back in his pew.

Koltyn Gafford is progressing.   Each step of progress takes much work and dedication by family and professionals, but he is certainly moving in the right direction.  Keep praying.
