I’m thankful for the rain that fell yesterday and even more thankful for God’s protection as I drove home from the doctor’s office yesterday.  It certainly was some of the heaviest rain I’ve ever had to drive through.  God provided for our safety!

Justin Lambert and his family continue to need our prayers.

Also, please remember Sherman Cutrer and his family.

David had another very eventful day.  We went to see the retina specialist for a post-op visit.  The last surgeries had been on the left eye, but it was the right eye that required the laser surgery.  God led us though the whole process and is guiding us in the medication schedule for each eye.  Keep praying.

Bro. Gary and Marcia Weiborg’s daughter-in-law’s dad got sick on a cruise, was airlifted to land, and passed away during surgery.  Please pray for Tiffany Weiborg and her family in the loss of her dad, Jon Marquette.

David Bryant had some surgery at Ochsner and has now been transferred closer to his parents, David and Brenda.  He is better, but please keep praying.

Justin Lambert has also shown improvement.  Many prayers are still needed for him.

David‘s surgery yesterday went well, as far as we know.  Two surgeries two days apart has been hard.  With the Lord’s strength and promises and a wonderful Christian doctor David is “hanging in there” despite a difficult night.  We have an appointment with the surgeon today.  He will remove the bandage from the eye and evaluate the surgery results.  Prayer will be appreciated.

Short-term mission trips: I have a number of friends who will be going on mission trips to various countries in the coming weeks.  Pray for them and those who will be ministered to. Consider going on such a trip one day and begin praying along that line.  In the meantime, contact one of the churches sending our members to learn how you might become a supporter of the ministry.

Scripture WritingIsaiah 40: 18-21

Monday is memorial day.  Remember all the families of military personnel who did not safely return from their service to our country, but who gave their lives for a country they considered great and worthy of a possible sacrifice.  I do not know of anyone in my family, but David had an uncle who gave his life in France in WWII.  Pray for all families who have lost military personnel during their service.  Pray our country will remain strong and worthy of all the sacrifices of these people.
