And the woman was healed at that moment.

“Did You Think to Pray?”

That’s a good question!  Did you think to pray?  Better, yet, did I think to pray?

Thank-you to all who brought highlighters for Operation Christmas Child.  We will be collecting small glue sticks next Sunday.  I added a box under the stairwell steps for those who find it inconvenient to come to my classroom, but delivery to my classroom before Sunday School will still be an option.  I know we will have sufficient notebooks, but will check on other items and post their status periodically.  Each item you bring is greatly appreciated and will make some child very thankful.  Remember, the shoeboxes are an opportunity to share Jesus with the children.  Also, remember we will be collecting donations to help pay the shipping for the boxes.  The packing party will be the first Saturday of November.  Plan to be there to share the joy and excitement.

Friday morning Bible study will focus on Ezekiel 19 this week.

Start this week off right by checking on someone.  Both of you will be blessed!  It was certainly a sweet time when we share all the many names of those who are sick last night.  I trust each of you will make some visits….

Just wanted to up date you on my second phase of my journey with ovarian cancer. We went to Ochsner Baptist in N.O., Thursday the 27th for my surgery. As some of you may already know, it didn’t turn out like we were expecting. Dr. Estes removed my right ovary, but could not remove my left one because of a tumor that was attached on my left ovary to my colon & that would have led to lots of complications. So now after I get over the surgery, I will have another phase of chemo to go through !! The first chemo did good, but did not completely take care of all the cancer cells….. we are heartbroken, but I know God will get me through this devastating journey one more time!! I appreciate all of your prayers that you have sent my way that have meant so much to me, so I am asking you for your continued prayers through these next few months!! Love each one of you ! God Bless!! ❤️ 7-28-17

I am in need of my prayer warriors!
Ms. Evelyn Bridges suffered a stroke on Friday the 14 th! The Tulane doctors removed a blood clot from her brain and she stayed in ICU for 4 days! She is currently in Hammond at United Medical Rehab!
We do not know what the future has in store however she is alert and in a happy place in her mind! She has to have moderate to maximum assistance with all everyday activities! We are just praying that this will get better with time! Thanking you in advance for your prayers!
Sorry haven’t posted before now!
But until you deal with something like this ( and I pray you never do)
You can’t understand the life changes and everything that goes along with it!
Love to all!

Posted by the family of Rod Smith of Laurel, MS:

On April 24, 2017 at approximately 3:30 in the morning, Rod had a rare stroke originating near his brain stem. Although most strokes affect either the left or right side of the body, this one affected both. He has paralysis on the left side of his face, affecting his speech and vision. He is unable to close his left eye which must remain covered with a patch. The patch, accompanied by double vision, makes it difficult for him to see and affects his depth perception. The muscles in his throat used for swallowing are paralyzed as well and he can’t swallow at all. He receives all medications and five daily feedings through a tube in his stomach.  Due to partial paralysis on the right side of his body he can no longer walk without aggressive aid.

Overnight, his life and that of his wife and family changed dramatically. Before the stroke, he was leading an active life. Running his bee hives, supporting his family, and aggressively working in his ministry as he has done most of his life. He has a long road to recovery ahead but he is dedicated to persevere with the help of God’s grace!

NEWS FLASH:

Hallelujah!!! The bathroom is completed thanks to each & everyone of you that have blessed Rod to be able to bathe daily! You can’t imagine how much this one project has helped him. We love & thank you so very much!

Wednesday

For I am convinced that neither death nor life,

neither angels nor demons,

neither the present nor the future,

nor any powers,

neither height nor depth,

nor anything else in all creation,

will be able to separate us from the love of God

that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

~Romans 8:38-39~

“The Love of God” – One of my favorites!

We’ve prayed for Carl Wayne Stevens, formerly of this area, many times over the last eight years.  He is still battling the complications from a stroke.  His attitude is good.  His helper, Nora, is faithful.  Let’s let our prayers be faithful too.

Josiah Huckaby – Update by KK Huckaby

What a difference a week makes! Today is day 140 in the NICU. Josiah has continued to improve and when I went to see him last Wednesday, they had swapped him from the invasive vent to a non-invasive vent. The staff have also been amazed at the difference & how far he has come. He did have a little problem last night…his central line came out & he’s on some many meds that a normal IV line is not sufficient. So he had to be put back on the invasive vent for the procedure to replace the central line (which went really well). They are working on weaning him as soon as possible. We are praising God that he is back on the vent because of a procedure & not because he required it!!! Also, he is growing like a weed. He is 10lbs 2oz & 25.5 inches now. Thanks for all the prayers! God is so good!!!

The children’s missions class will meet at 6 P.M. tonight.  Please share your children and grandchildren with us for one hour each week.

Pray for the mission team from East Fork Baptist Church as they continue to work and represent God’s name in Guatemala.

Operation Christmas Child – FBC, Kentwood is collecting highlighters, markers, and crayons this week.  Bring your items to my Sunday School classroom before Sunday School.  We’re sorting and counting items as they come it.  Remember these dates:  November 4 Packing Party & November13-20 Collection of Packed Shoeboxes at FBC, Kentwood.  We will be receiving shoeboxes from schools, clubs, businesses, churches, and individuals.  The more we pack the more children we impact.  Each one represents one more child whose life will be changed.

I hope you will continue to help with the shoeboxes as well as you did with the notebooks the first week of collection at FBC.  Thank-you so much!

Mrs. Annie Bell Harrell almost had a heart attack yesterday, but her medical device, four quick-acting family members, and the medical staff at Greensburg had her problem identified and correct so she could return home in short order.

The “Young” Ladies’ Birthday Party seemed destined for very few ladies to be in attendance because of the sudden heavy downpour, but 15 ladies attended and had a great time.  We had four birthday ladies, including two new ladies, and a guest.  Our next meeting will be August 22nd.
