Operation Christmas Child – Livia and a Necklace (Part 2) – https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/shoebox-stories-livia-and-a-necklace/

Do you want to create quite a stir and lots of questions?  Purchase items for OCC in big quantities!  You will have the cashier and a number of customers asking questions.  The best part is being able to share what you are doing and why!  You can encourage others to do the same.

The school supplies are marked down in some stores.  It is the perfect time to purchase markers, crayons, glue sticks, pencil sharpeners, highlighters, etc.  Get them while the price is the lowest.  You can stretch your funds a long ways at this time of year,

This week’s opportunities:

  • Sunday School and Worship – Check the church ahead of time; Different churches begin at different times.
  • Sunday Evening Worship Services still exist in a number of churches.  Enjoy the message and the music.
  • Today, meet in my classroom at 3:30 to discuss the next ladies’ night.
  • Monday at 10 A.M. – associational WMU meeting at Spring Creek to learn about the flooding at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and pastor’s home.  We will also learn about their recovery efforts.
  • Wednesday – Mission organizations for children will meet in the L-wing at 6 P.M.
  • Thursday – Monthly “Third Thursday” gathering at the cabin.
  • Friday – Bible study at 10 A.M. to begin John 8.

This is the Lord’s Day.  Honor Him!

Friday

This day I call the heavens and the earth

as witnesses against you

that I have set before you life and death,

blessings and curses.

Now choose life,

so that you and your children may live.

David’s brother, Jimmy, had a liver scan yesterday with good results.  We’re thanking God.

David‘s one contact took us an hour to get in place yesterday.  Pray we do better today.  Also, pray for the upcoming appointment with the cornea specialist regarding the next surgery.  Thank you so much.

Operation Christmas Child – “Elvina and the Chewing Gum” – https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/shoebox-stories-elvina-and-chewing-gum

Starting in 2017, candy and toothpaste will not be allowed in shoebox gifts due to customs regulations. We remain confident, however, that your gift will still delight a child in need.

Interested in learning about the recent flooding and recovery work at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and pastor’s home?  Come to Spring Creek Baptist Church Monday at 10:00 A.M.  Rev. Randol Camardelle will be shaing.

Now is the time to buy school supplies.  They are on sale now.  You can purchase fifty (50) spiral notebooks for less than $10.00.  We also need markers, crayons, glue sticks, pencil sharpeners, pencil boxes, etc.  Bring your items to my Sunday School classroom.  Thanks so much.  One day, we may be reading a Samaritan’s Purse story about a child who came to know the Lord because of the pretty markers packed in Kentwood, LA.

Thursday

 “Enter through the narrow gate.

For wide is the gate

and broad is the road that leads to destruction,

and many enter through it.

But small is the gate

and narrow the road that leads to life,

and only a few find it.

~Matthew 7:13-14, NIV~

David and I have had three appointment on three different days this week.  The good news is that David’s eyes are healed enough to have glasses for his right eye and a contact for his left eye.  We also have an appointment on the 25th to see a cornea specialist concerning the next surgery.  Please continue to pray for David and his vision.  The good news is that I had a good report on my vision despite watching for some hereditary problems.

Earlo LaBauve was doing very poorly last night.  Pray for his family in the coming days.

Children on Mission had three new children last night.  It is not too late to bring someone to join us from 6-7 P.M.  We also had two guests last night, Bubba Roberts with his guitar and harmonica and David Alford with stories of experiences in other countries (like missionaries who sacrifice to share the good news of Jesus).

I am getting good report from the vacation Bible schools this week.  My little children be drawn to Jesus through their efforts.

I was given some cash to shop for someone.  Thanks to a thrifty shopper we were able to buy bars of soap, enough to complete shopping for all the soap needed this year.  Thanks to the donor.  Thanks to the shopper.  If you would like a lady to shop for you, feel free to give cash.  Many more items are needed and you can be a part by contributing once or monthly.  You will help to make special memories for a child like Denis.

Children in Action and Mission Friends had the first meeting Wednesday.  We had some precious children who were anxious to sing, do, learn, pray, listen, etc.  We will meet again Wednesday at 6:00 P.M. in the L-wing.  Bring your children so they can be a part.

Have a great day tomorrow remembering and thanking God for the freedoms we have in America.
