Mother’s Day

A wife of noble character who can find?

She is worth far more than rubies.

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.

~Proverbs 31:10, 27-28 (NIV)~

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!

Please pray about how the weather is changing so many lives.  Many have had storm damage.  Others are facing of will face flooding.  Many jobs are put on hold until better weather returns.  I know God has all this under control.  We need to pray for people to make wise decisions concerning the weather.

Mr. “Cete” Dillon is home again.  Pray he continues to improve.

Yesterday’s weather was a “humdinger”!  Pray for McComb residents and others who sustained damage.  Thank God for keeping people safe despite all the downed trees, electrical lines, damaged homes, businesses, etc.   Thank God for the safety he provided despite the physical damage.  Our God is mighty!

Read and Write the Bible Today – Matthew 6:6

Our weather pattern seems to include more wet days.  I pray for safety for those at home and those who have to leave their homes for jobs. education, appointments, etc.  I also pray for adults to be able to handle the weather in a way that teaches children how to safely respond to such situation.

Thursday

LORD, you establish peace for us;

all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

~Isaiah 26:12~

I’m thankful for God who loves us and helps you find peace on the difficult days we all have.

I’m going to be brief this morning because I have a long list of things to accomplish today.

I am thankful for a better rest last night.  I am thankful to wake up in my own house.  I am thankful to open the refrigerator at my own home. I’m even thankful for the sound of my washing machine this morning.  Being in the hospital for a few days certainly makes you appreciate being back at home.  I’m thankful that David and I are back at home.  He lost fifteen pounds of fluid in less than a week.  I know he will feel better today.  Please continue to remember David in your prayers.

Stay safe and dry today.  I’m thankful we only had light rain on our drive home from Baton Rouge yesterday.  What is on your thankfulness list today?

Wednesday Evening

“Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear.

If we are afraid, it . . . shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.”

Read and Write the Bible

  • Tuesday – Psalm 139:7
  • Wednesday – Psalm 51:5-6

Adrian Phillips has been having problems with his heart and fluid.  He was scheduled to possible come home today.  Also, in his future, is open heart surgery.  Pray for God to watch over this man and his family.  His issues are his heart and his kidneys.

Mr. “Cete” Dillon should be released from North Oaks tomorrow.  Thank God that Mr. “Cete”s problem was addressed and handled in such a timely way.

We’re are home after three days at Ochsner.  A nurse practitioner listened and acted quickly when David had too much fluid in his body.  David was given medication until this afternoon to remove the fluid.  We are very tired, but thankful and home at last.  He also got his 20th unit of blood Monday afternoon.  We are so appreciative of those who have helped him.

Thanks so much for praying for these three men and all the others you added to these three names.  You are appreciated!

Anna Lee

Tuesday at Noon

As you have probably already figured out, David did not get to go home this morning. He still has some fluid to have removed. David feels better with the blood he received (20th unit) and the fluid loss from his body (2+ liters).

He’s eating well and took his walker for a round or two in the hallways. As more tests are done, we will learn more about going home tomorrow.

Please keep praying for David and those caring for him. Also, please pray for Mr. “Cete” Dillon and Mr. Adrian Phillips, who are both hospitalized at North Oaks.

As you pray for these three men, please also make an effort to contact someone to check on them and to pray for them.

I appreciate Facebook posts by Jeff Van and others. Jeff pastors in McComb. His grandmother and my mother were first cousins, so that makes us . . “kin”. This is Jeff’s post for today which I have paraphrased.

There is not enough room in your heart for worry and faith, so you have to choose which one rules your life each day.

Monday Evening

This morning I wrote about the Monday ride to Baton Rouge. Our ride didn’t end with us at home tonight. We are in room 206 at Ochsner.

David’s body has had several battles going on. Today, he got a unit of blood and is ridding his body of too much fluid.

God has continued to walk this journey with us. He also allowed my sister, Julie, and David’s niece, Leesha, to be very helpful to us today.

The doctors have a plan for us to go home tomorrow. I’m waiting to see what God’s plans are. Whatever that is, we choose to follow Him!

I’m not sure when I will write again. Pray for God’s will for our lives.

Monday

“The LORD watches over all who love him.”

~Psalm 145:20 NIV~

I remember watching the Monday morning march with Buckskin Bill from Baton Rouge.  David and I now have a Monday morning ride to Baton Rouge.  Today, we meet my sister, Julie, in Ponchatoula so she can do some driving for us.  God had certainly been watching over us as we have traveled many medical miles in the last couple of years.  Thankfully, He has been with us all the way on this journey.

Yesterday, the local churches honored their graduates yesterday.  Let’s join together to pray for and encourage each one of them.  Their lives are all changing as they face the next steps of their future.  Let’s pray they welcome God to travel these new steps with them.

Bro. Darryl Miller’s morning post:

Good morning. Today we will be recognizing our graduating seniors. Remember to pray for these young women and men as they continue their journey through life.
Also, we will have a Deacon ordination service for Ernest (Joe) Cutrer at 6pm. Ordination council at 4:30 this afternoon in the sanctuary.
As our graduates start to move out on their own, a lesson that I hope that they learn early is this- The little things in life make a big difference. A little of God’s blessings will have an impact of “goodness” in their lives that they can feel and others can see. Unfortunately, the same is true of a little sin. A small seemingly unnoticeable sin entering their lives will have a negative impact that they can feel and others can see. In order to truly be blessed we have to keep all sin at a distance.
Join us at FBC Kentwood this morning for Sunday School at 9:15 followed by Worship at 10:30. Our scripture passage will be Numbers 6:22-27. We will go Facebook Live at 10:30 for those that can’t be here in person.

I hope you will be in church somewhere this morning, but if you can’t, find a good pastor on television, computer, or i-phone.
