PRAYER FOCUS TODAY

Today, let’s focus our prayers on those in special care facilities for a long time. I had a grandmother, Jennie, who needed that kind of care for almost as far back as I can remember. She was in Baton Rouge for most of those years because there were no places closer to our family. When closer places opened, she chose to stay where she was because she loved being there and was greatly loved and appreciated by the owners, staff, and patients. (That hard to believe, but true.)

We were unable to see her daily or even weekly, but more like every few weeks. Modern medical care possibly could have enabled the family to have her closer. Thank God for the many options today. Love, pray for, and visit your relatives and friends who are such homes. They get love and attention, but there is no love and attention like that from family members.

Thankfully, my grandmother and many others are able to have great years and experiences there. My grandmother was the unofficial hostess. fill in switchboard operator, ceramic class helper, Avon lady, guide, etc. She loved her beautiful room and home so much. We loved her greatly. I was the oldest of nine grandchildren and have great memories of her in Roseland and Baton Rouge. I’m thankful to say she was able to attend her church there because of some friends she made there.

Please make sure your prayer list contains names of relatives, friends, and church members who live in a long-term care facility.

PRAYER FOCUS: MAY EVENTS/DECISIONS

The days of this month are quickly passing by. Many special school events happen during this month. Ofter, life-changing decisions are made. Pray for students, especially those who are graduating from high school or college. Pray with them as big decisions are made.

SERMON TOPICS and BIBLE PASSAGES

I was able to get a copy of Bro. Darryl’s plans for sharing at church this month. Here’s the information for Sunday, May 14.

“God Loves You”

Ezekiel 16: 1-14, 60-63, and 117: 12-24.

You may want to read and meditate over these passages for the next few days.

Have a wonderful day. Try to spend some time doing something for others.
