Prayer Focus
Today, let’s pray for our friends and neighbors to be prepared for the changes in our lives due to the cooler temperatures, I know it will be much cooler later, but preparations can be done early. Let’s pray for and assist others as winter preparations are made.

Missions
An annual mission project in many churches is turning new stamped Christmas cards for prisoners in area jails to send a card or two to family members. I received a wonderful set of cards at church yesterday.
This is the process: Purchase new cards and USPS stamps . Place the stamps on the envelopes. Turn the cards in to me or to Judy Noonan in Greensburg. We will deliver the cards to the St. Helena and Tangipahoa Parish jails early in December. Now, we are in the process of collecting cards. We welcome your stamped cards.
The cards allow those who will not be able to attend family Christmas celebrations to contact relatives at this special time of the year. We welcome your participation.
Missions – OCC
Saturday, David and I traveled to River Road Baptist Church to pick up a load of special cartons that will each be used to pack sixteen shoeboxes during the collection week in November.
If you have not packed your shoeboxes yet, you probable need to complete you packing in the next few weeks so you will be ready to send them to us at FBC, Kentwood and we will take care of the packing and delivering to the next location. We will serve as the drop-off location for our area Monday – Monday, the week of November 16-23. You can check the OCC site to get the times we will collect each day.

We will have help to unload your vehicle while you are giving us the information about your church and shoeboxes.
Another point I need to mention is that we will ship your leftover items or any extra items. We will box your items. There are no shipping charges on the extras. You can turn them in to us in plastic grocery bags. We have special boxes labeled “FILLER” for this purpose OR you can pack your own FILLER boxes. We will add the labels for you. The filler will be used as needed by special workers in Dallas or Atlanta. Our boxes usually go to Dallas.
Thank you for reading and praying today. As you work on shoeboxes, pray for each one that goes through your hands.
Have a wonder Monday! God, bless each one who reads and pray and/or packs and ships shoeboxes.
