Priscilla “Bunny” Woodson Peters

August 13, 1946 – May 7, 2023

A resident of Amite, LA, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. She was born August 13, 1946 in Nowata, OK and was 76 years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Peters Pickering and husband, Marvin; son, Matthew Peters and wife, Brenda; grandchildren, Mark Pickering and wife, Mandy Jo, Ammy Pickering Ard and husband, Jimmie, Michaela Peters Roberson and husband, Michael, Madeline Peters Bozak and husband, Eli; great-grandchildren, Jackson Ard, Cooper Roberson, Samuel Pickering, Maverick Roberson, Cadence Pickering, Memphis Roberson, and Baby Bozak; sister, Mary Woodson Jenkins and husband, Kenneth; brother, Jack Woodson and wife, Annette; brother-in-law, Noel Williams. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Peters; parents, James Woodson and Mildred Reeves Woodson; sister, Joyce Williams; brother, Chuck Moore. A private family service will be held.

Robert Earl “Big Bob” Brooke

October 27, 1948 – May 7, 2023

He was born in Gary, Indiana and graduated from Pasadena High School, Pasadena Texas. He was a V-1 Division USS America CVA-66 Vietnam Veteran. He is a lifetime member of the American Legion. Bob attended Virginia Tech in Portsmouth, Virginia and then graduated with a BA in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. He started out in business with Hayden Swimming Pools and subsequently became the owner of Brookeside Pools. Big Bob, as he is affectionatly referred to by many started his relationship with the Lord at Mt Nebo Baptist Church in 1984, where he actively taught Sunday School, led the music, and participated in all activities of the church. In 2000, he brought his family to join the congregation of Cornerstone Church of Amite. His favorite thing was 8 a.m. services with David Leto and singing old gospel music. Big Bob was a quiet man who went about his business tending to his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing cards with Radar Currier and the Pat Murphy gang. He was an avid supporter of the Amite Oyster Festival and any other activity his wife got him into.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 by Pastor Mervin Strother and Bro Mark Leto at Cornerstone Church of Amite. Military honors by MasterSergeant (Retired) Marvin Vernon.

He is survived by his wife Carol Alford Brooke; one son Clifford Brooke and wife Julie Davis Brooke; one daughter Robin Brooke; two grandsons Landon Davis and John Dakota Brooke.

He is also survived by his “adopted” family including: Rod and Alayne Granat, Kyle Granat and Gabriella Gabby Granat and baby Luke; Jared and Madelyn and baby to come in November; Don, Jacquie, Justin and Bella Summerford; Mikey Schmitt and Racheal Brooke, Michael, Zechariah, Heaven and Remi Schmitt; Jennifer, Emily and Trent Decota; Abby Brocato Kent; and one brother Jim Moss and wife Ellen.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Dana Behring and John Lewis Brooke; father and mother, Russell and Virginia Brooke; twin brother Rusty Brooke; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lewis and Ruby Alford.

Special acknowledgment to his lifelong friends Dennis Brown, Jimmy Sanders, Daniel Hayden and Micheal Parrish.
