Thursday

“LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble;

You will strengthen their hearts.

You will listen carefully.”

~Psalm 10:17~

Pray for the world situation, especially our country.  Pray for politicians, voters, old, young, black, while, rich, poor, Christians, and unchristians.  Pray God will use all to make a better world for us all and to bring those who don’t know the Lord to sit at his table.

Pray for victims to man-made and natural disasters.  May we all do our best to keep ourselves and others stay safe.  Especially pray for the people of Texas who have faced the latest natural disaster.  May our disaster relief people be there to help them with meals, clean clothes, rebuilding, but mainly with their spiritual needs.

Mrs. Seymour, mother of two of my former students, Karen Joanne, and Becky, passed away last night.  Many of you may remember her as co-owner of a store of highway 16 between I-55 and highway 51.

I went to bed last night praying for the Jones family.  Read the latest posts and hear the heart of Gavin Jones.  Pray for peace for his thoughts and energy to face each day.

As I ponder the good medical report I received Tuesday, I know all medical reports are not so positive.  Pray for each person visiting a doctor, because we never know when they might get a negative report.  Pray for those who will face that situation today.  Pray they will allow God to prepare their hearts for the near future and for eternity.  People in these situations are often very open to hearing God’s Word through us.  Take time to visit, call, pray, share a Scripture, etc. to help make their day a little lighter and their eternity much brighter.

Friday Evening

Brody Roberts has developed pneumonia while trying to recover from his surgery on his tonsils.  He is in North Oaks and will appreciate our prayers for him to get better.

Amber Prine Ragan’s surgeon at MD Anderson got a big enough piece of the brain tumor to get an accurate report from the lab.  That will be in a week or so.  In the meantime, she is moving around and enjoying her family as company.  Pray for a good recovery and clear plans for her coming treatment.

Nancy Carruth’s biopsy procedure went well this morning.  She will also be waiting for a report.  From JoEllen Carruth:

Thank you for all of your prayers this morning for Nancy. Procedure went well. We are now home and will get the results on Wednesday. Procedure involves no food or drink, an IV with meds so that you don’t care what they are doing, cat scan to locate exact spot on liver for biopsy, needle in between ribs, recovery time of 2 hours. Thank you for Larry Carruth and Dot Easley for being there for moral support. Larry came in between his two rounds of radiation today which concludes his chemo and radiation treatments until he has his surgery. He is doing great. Continue to pray for Larry as he recovers and as Nancy waits for her results.

Prayers for Eli

Ok we are settled into our hospital room and are getting ready for our first round of chemo and if will be a little more intense because he didn’t respond as they wished he had to the last round of chemo.
So here we go!! When we left this morning from the house it was quite emotional for all of us.. The stress of leaving and stress of not getting enough time with everyone and were back at it again for a month.
Chris and I would really appreciate your prayers as we always have , for mercy and endurance and strength . We just hope for an easier time this go around. Thank everyone

Friday

“He has saved us and called us with a holy calling,

not according to our works,

but according to His own purpose and grace,

which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.”

~2 Timothy 1:9, HCSB~

Rod Phillips passed away yesterday due to cancer.  His name will not mean anything to you, but to IMB missionaries who got a good deal to use a car for a few months, he was a very special man.  David went to the Jackson, Tennessee to pick up/return a vehicle several times.  Thankfully, I went last May to return the vehicle the Hatchels used while Stateside this last time.  I’m so glad I did, because I met a used car salesman who had a real heart for missions!  Not only did he go on numerous mission trips, but he provided a vehicle at unbelievably good deals to missionaries while they were back in this country for a while.  I remember I reported this here and used the comment, “God can use anyone, even a used car dealer!”.  Ron Phillips was indeed a man who made a difference for the Lord and His kingdom.  May God bless his family and friends, as well as many missionaries, who will surely miss this man.  The Scripture above is dedicated to Rod’s memory.

Nancy Carruth is on her way to Baton Rouge this morning for a liver biopsy.  Please pray for this sweet friend and her family as well as the medical staff who will be working with her.

Pray for Bro. Gary Wieborg, former pastor at Roseland, as he comforts two families through funeral services on the same day.

Amber Prine Ragan

Amazing News!!
We Are Over the Moon!!!
We just spoke with Dr. Lavine. We were not expecting to hear from the doctor until later this afternoon. He said that he was able to remove enough of the tissue to send off to the pathologist. At this time he feels the tumor is an A typical grade 2 infiltrating glioma tumor, but will need to wait for the pathologist results. We are taking this as a good report. It will take 7-10 days to get the final results. She will follow-up with an oncologist once the results are in.
They have now started the process of closing the incision and we hope to be able to see her around 2:00-2:30.
Prayers have been heard, keep them coming!!! Thank you to ALL of our prayer warriors! In Amber’s words, “We are Over the Moon!” with this report!

Mrs. Pauline Strickland passed away.  Pray for her family.  They have been so faithful to stay with her around the clock for over a year.
