Wednesday

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for

and assurance about what we do not see.

~Hebrews 11:1~

Pray for the annual meeting of Southern Baptist as they end their gathering and business sessions tonight. Pray the delegates have learned ways to improve their churches and the world around then, no matter where God has “planted” them. Pray for all the missionaries in attendance, especially the new ones as many of them will soon begin to learn a new language to better communicate with the people around them.

Please pray for God to wrap Larry Raborn’s family in His arms and hug them closely today.

Pray for youth from some area churches as they attend church camps this week and for the children at other churches as they continue their week of VBS. May they allow God to touch their innermost portions of their hearts.

Thank God for His steadfast love for us even when we are not so loving.

Pray for a friend having a procedure in Hammond today. Thank God this man made purchases of flashlights and extra batteries last week that we were able to package for “Shoeboxes”.

Thank God for the lady who left us some stuffed animals and some “cut out” Teddy bears for sewing. God encouraged us through these people.

Thank God for a store manager who recognized us as the “Shoebox” packers and made a special effort to look for an item we needed.

If you want to know what you can purchase to help us at this point, please ask. I usually carry a written or mental list. We can always use your prayers!

Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today,

so that it may go well with you and your children after you

and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time.

~Deuteronomy 4:40~

Pray for our church youth and kids in all the area churches. They are having VBS, going to camp, day camps, Vacation Bible Schools, etc. Encourage churches as they minister to so many in so many ways. What a difference they make – an eternal difference! Thank God for youth ministers and volunteers who see the benefits for the children and youth. Also, pray for the children who miss out on all these opportunities. May we be instrumental in guiding them to participate in these activities.

Sunday

See what great love the Father has lavished on us,

that we should be called children of God!

And that is what we are!

The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

~I John 3:1~

Thanks to those of you who have called to check on us. We appreciate you!

Just when I was hoping to go to church, I cannot stop coughing!

I’ve been hearing of more and more people who have been sick the last 2-3 weeks. I think we all had different symptoms, but all had a miserable time. If you haven’t had it, keep away from it. You can find better things to do with your time.

Today is a good day to purchase items for “Shoeboxes”. This month, our focus is on small games like checkers or dominoes, small flashlights and extra AAA batteries, marbles, stuffed animals, small trucks, coloring books, small cans of playdough, etc. You will find a list of suggestions at the church if you choose to shop later in the week.

WANTED: Parents of elementary age children who will work with their children to complete a colorful, fill-in-the-blank type letters that will go in the shoeboxes. See Anna Lee at church to get your forms. An alternative would be teachers of children who would dedicate a portion of their classes to work on this project.

Please continue to pray for those on your personal prayer list. A personal list is more meaningful to you.

The following is an article about the church our Georgia kids attend. I thought you might appreciated reading it.
