Operation Christmas Child

  • Today, we will turn the the composition books purchased last week.  I will be in my classroom before Sunday School to receive the composition books you purchased this past week.  The best deal seems to have been at Dirt Cheap.
  • This week, we will purchase markers, colors, and highlighters, with and emphasis on HIGHLIGHTERS.  I found boxes of markers for $.50 at Walmart.  The best deal on markers seems to be buying about a dozen in a package.  We will separate them and send one or two in each shoebox.
  • Remember, this is a marathon, with weekly purchases.  We need to stick with the schedule to cover the basics first.
  • Please know that each purchase is helpful to us.  We don’t want to overburden anyone.

“Sweet By and By”

Friday

Do not be anxious about anything,

but in every situation,

by prayer and petition,

with thanksgiving,

present your requests to God.

And the peace of God,

which transcends all understanding,

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

~Philippians 4:6-7~

Wednesday night, after prayer meeting, mission’s class, and youth,  we had a visitor at church.  It was Nathan Bell.  He thanks the adults there who had been great influences on his life, people who encouraged, even pushed him in the right direction.  Nathan has served on three foreign fields and hopefully is moving from the west coast to the east coast with his family.  He spoke of the influence of FBC, Kentwood on his life.  I can say it was a blessing to have been part of those he chose to see that night.  Thank-you, Nathan, for being a man who showed your appreciation this week.  May God continue to watch over you and your family.

Mrs. Ruby Dillon continues to not feel her best.  She will see her doctor Tuesday.  Please continue to pray for her.

Mr. John Phillips will be having double knee replacement today.  Pray all goes well and that he will be able to walk again when his physical therapy is completed.

Third Thursday – Remember, we have taken a summer break due to family company/events.  We will not meet tonight, but will resume in September.

Yesterday, I noticed some of the writing on the back of a box from Hunt Brothers Pizza. It blessed my heart.

Our Guiding Principles: Place God first in all we do, Be a blessing to people, Trust God to meet out needs. & Strive for excellence.

Above that was an American flag with a circle of stars and words that said “United We Stand” and “In God We Trust”.

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you,

then choose for yourselves this day

whom you will serve,

we will serve the LORD.”

And he prayed again,
