“Those who make a practice of sin are straight from the Devil, the pioneer in the practice of sin. The Son of God entered the scene to abolish the Devil’s ways.” ~1 John 3:8 (The Message)~

DEUTERONOMY 10:1-12:32
Saturday is the day! We will learn to put our hands to mission projects. The focus will be on making dresses for girls from men’s shirts. You are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall of FBC, Kentwood at 9 A.M. Sewing dresses is the focus, but sewing skills are not required for participation. There will be a number of activities to keep your hands busy. Please bring clean, used men’s shirts that are still in good condition, sewing equipment and supplies, especially scissors, and a finger food of your choice. The dresses will go in the shoeboxes for girls that we are packing this year. One more thing, if you can remove the pocket before Saturday, that will save us lots of time. Bring the pocket with you when you come.
I hope to see a room full of ladies. We will also meet on Monday, the 22nd to do the same thing. You are invited to attend either day or both days. One more thing, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MEMBER OF FBC, KENTWOOD to participate.
What is the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering? The offering was started in 1895 by Woman’s Missionary Union® (WMU) to benefit the work of the Home Mission Board (now North American Mission Board). In 1934, it was named in honor of Annie Armstrong, a bold missions advocate and WMU’s first national executive leader. Today, more than $1 billion has been donated by Southern Baptist churches and individuals to support thousands of missionaries in church planting and compassion ministries. Because of this sacrificial giving, millions of lives have been and continue to be transformed by the power of the gospel.
I believe in prayer. Thanks for reading and praying today.

Jacob knows the homeless, drug addicts and gang members of Sanger. He used to live among them before he went to jail and met Jesus there.
Now he and his wife, Francine, are reaching those who “would scare people who go to most churches,” Jacob said. Through Set Free Church, they take the gospel to the streets to reach the people others might see as a “lost cause.”
Church members distribute food, hot meals and hygiene supplies several times a week along with an invitation to worship and Bible study. Their acts of compassion are growing the church and changing lives. Jacob also connects addicts with Biblically based recovery centers and continues their spiritual growth through Set Free Church’s discipleship house.
All of it, Jacob said, “is God”—God gave him a heart to help those without hope “because I was there once myself.”
Prayer Requests
For God to transform hearts in Sanger with the gospel.
For resources to maintain and expand the discipleship house ministry.
I forgot to include the Annie Armstrong Week of Prayer.
Day 6
Day Six: Bobby & Lakeisha Williams
Slidell, Louisiana
Bobby and LaKeisha Williams have a simple goal—to meet the deep need of New Orleans with the even deeper love of Christ.
In the city, some buildings are still boarded up from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The area around the Williamses’ church plant is predominantly African American and low-income. “A lot of what we strive to do is provide resources,” Bobby said. “We try to educate people spiritually, financially, intellectually, you name it.”
That’s how their church—Next Level Church—got its name. They want to see people take their life to the next level starting right where they are. The church provides its neighbors with multiple forms of assistance from health fairs to meal distribution, all with the goal of creating community and leading them to Jesus.
“Despite the challenges we’ve been able to make an impact, and we want to do even more,” Bobby said.
Prayer Requests
For Bobby and LaKeisha to persevere in ministry.
For the church’s compassion ministries to open doors to share the gospel.
Please continue to pray for Douglas Warren. Today is day # 96 for him at North Oak fighting Covid-19. He seems to be making some improvement. Keep praying.

Pray for those who will attend and create dresses for our girl’s shoeboxes and make other items for all our shoeboxes.
I’ve taught homebound students and considered all they were missing out on.
I’ve know senior adults who were at home and alone for years. They surely do enjoy company.
Many people have been homebound because of Covid-19 during the past year. Their “company” is usually limited to not much more than the medical people who come to care for them.
Conveniences like drive-in pharmacies and banking help, as does grocery pickup. Connections to the “outside world” are extremely important.
Visits mean the world to the homebound. Telephone calls and cards in the mail are also special to them. We can all do more to encourage others through difficult time such as periods of homebound confinement.

Time Change This Weekend
Saturday night, you need to adjust your clocks to “spring forward”. You will lose an hour of sleep and get to church on time Sunday.
Thank-you for praying for those on your personal prayer list. It is so encouraging to hear others say they are praying for you and know they really have been doing so.
Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
I know many school bus drivers, but am thankful I am not in that group. Think of the responsibilities – Good driving skills, learning a route and new children, safety of children and those in other vehicles, monitoring what’s going on with those of the bus, keeping a bus clean and safe, etc.
Pray for school bus operators today.
Thank-you for reading and praying today. Thank-you for collecting men’s shirts for our two “Helping Hands” days. I have high expectations.
“Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, ‘How can I help?’”

Annie Armstrong Focus for Day 2 of the Week of Prayer Day 3
Prayer Focus – Those who travel long distances to get to work each day
I never traveled more than twenty-five miles to teach school each day, but I know of many who travel for more than an hour twice a day for work. Join me in praying for them today. Pray they have learned how to use that time wisely and have a good attitude about a job they are willing to drive many miles daily for.
Operation Christmas Child – “Helping Hands: Making Men’s Shirts into Dresses”
Mrs. Thelma Pierce wanted to teach some ladies how to do this because her loss of her vision is making this more and more difficult and OCC is her passion! I agreed to “get the ball rolling”. Now, it seems like it going to be a great day as ladies from all around come together. We will meet two mornings:
Saturday, March 20 at 9:00
Monday, March 22 at 10:00
If you don’t sew, come anyway. She will teach you something you can do. I will also have some tasks you can learn to help with your shoeboxes.
Bring finger foods. We will have a table set us that you can visit when you take a break.
Between today and March 20th. please pray for this mission project to be very fruitful. Pray the skills learned will be used for many years to come and bless many boys and girls through the “shoeboxes” they receive. Give me a call if you need more information.
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
~James 1:5 (NLT)~
Ana Spiers had her third surgery in three days Saturday. It went well. She is able to sit up in ICU. Please continue to pray for her and her family.
