Wednesday

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace,

the God we serve is able to deliver us from it,

and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.

But even if he does not,

we want you to know, Your Majesty,

that we will not serve your gods

or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

~Daniel 3:17-18~

It’s history!

We had our first night of Bible Drill class night.  Our focus was John 3:16.  Despite the bad weather earlier, we had a great attendance and a great desire to learn more.  We will meet again next Sunday at 6 P.M.  If you have any boys or girls who will be in K-5 next year, we would love to have them join us.  The more the merrier because we are learning how to use and understand our Bibles better.  Thanks to workers who love both the Bible and children!

Saturday

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.

What can mere mortals do to me?

Jan Yarborough requests prayer.  She will be at OLOL May 2nd for a hip replacement.  She requests your prayers.

Barbara Hutchinson will also be having surgery, a knee replacement.  Hers will be done May 1.

Gloria Gill will be having a test May 2nd.  Please pray for another lady from our church.

Rod Smith, formerly of Kentwood, “had a stroke on Monday, May 24, and has been in the hospital in Laurel since then.  They are putting in a feeding tube today  (Friday) because he has been unable to swallow – his major issue.  His speech has also been slightly affected but not his sense of humor.  He is still in his preacher mode telling everyone …’what is important is your faith in Jesus Christ’.”

Rev. Bill Ichter, the retired music minister to Brazil and former music director at FBC, Amite, was able to return home yesterday after being in the hospital in Minden because of pneumonia.  Thank God that Bro. Bill improved and will return to his family.

Wayne McNabb went home yesterday with a heart monitor for the next two weeks.  A date for nasal surgery has not been set yet.  The doctors suspect his problem was caused by medication, but are monitoring his heart to be safe.

Phillip Strickland of Osyka was able to  return home to his family yesterday.  Thank God for this big step he has made.

While you are praying, please also pray for a new class at FBC, Kentwood.  We will be beginning a Bible Drill class.  Pray the boys and girls learn more about their Bible through our weekly classes.

and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
