Tuesday

I’ve been delayed this morning because of yesterday’s weather.  I’m back now!

For God so loved the world

that he gave his one and only Son,

that whoever believes in him

shall not perish but have eternal life.

~John 3:16~

The key words – “whoever believes in Him”

If-then statement:

If – believe

Then – eternal life

That doesn’t sound complicated!

David’s brother‘s procedure went well yesterday.  Now, another wait!

Join me in thanking God for His protection during the bad weather yesterday.

Jadon’s Journey

Jadon went for his test today at Children’s Hospital. We haven’t been there in a long time bc we see his neurologist at the Metairie clinic. As we walked in his hand held my hand tight and he got very quiet. I was quickly reminded of how much time we use to spend there, how scared we were, the many tears cried, and how sick Jadon once was. I then realized it has been 4 years since the last time he was put in the hospital. The place we use to call our 2nd home is now a distant memory. We did run into one of his nurses who use to take care of him, the lady that use to push him around telling everyone to have a blessed day (such a ray of sunshine to everyone), and we stopped by to see our favorite nurse in Dr. Weimer’s office. It was great to see all of them bc they all took such great care of Jadon but today it hit me just how thankful I am for Jadon’s health. He is doing things we thought he would never be able to do. Thank you God for always being by our side in the good times and the bad.

Valentine’s Day!  I hope you are shown love by family and friends today.  I also hope you show love to others today.  More that that, I hope you know and have the love for God that He so wants to give.  The catch is you have to receive it.  That would be like having a gift, but never opening it.  Open it.  Enjoy it.  Share it!

Harrell Sharkey got a good report from his doctor.  He’s enjoying his grandkids and anticipating lots of good days ahead.  He is thankful to God and to all of you who prayed for him.

Mr. Philip Harrell said his sister-in-law, Mary, is about the same, which is not good.  Please continue to pray for God’s mercy.

Today’s request is from Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Harrell:  “Miss” Annie Bell’s sister, Mary Amanda Rice, fell and broke her wrist and hip.  She has had surgery, but is not responding.  Please pray for Mrs. Rice and her family.

Today, let’s pray for the workers in our area hospitals and nursing homes.  Pray they will be aware of needs other than the ones written in a patient’s folder.  Pray they will be gentle and kind to each patient, just as they would to their own loved one.  Pray for them to have extra energy to channel into enthusiasm and encouragement for those to whom they minister.

Also, let’s thank God for and pray for the personnel of various funeral homes.  We have experienced the services of four in the last two or three weeks.  What an awesome opportunity they have to minister to and share with families they have!  Let’s pray that they have the right words at the right times, especially with families who do not know the One who loves them most.

Tuesday

“What does it profit a man

to gain the whole world

and lose his own soul?”

~Mark 8:36~

Today, let’s pray for our area churches.  We can all name several dozen of them.  Some seem to be on the upswing, some declining, and some barely holding on.  Let’s pray for God-filled pastors and teachers, active members, and visitors seeking Jesus to live in their hearts.  May those visitors be welcomed into a friendly church that is cleaner than their homes and providing a safe, healthy environment to train adults, youth, children, and babies as they should be.  Let’s be a welcoming  church following up with those who visit. At the same time, may we have strong outreach programs and daily awareness of our opportunities to invite and encourage others.  In our daily lives, may we live more like Jesus each day and be a positive witness for Him no matter where we are.
