Saturday

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,

because the LORD has anointed me

to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim freedom for the captives

and release from darkness for the prisoners.

~Isaiah 61:1~

We had our first meeting with Children in Action and Mission Friends last night.  I think everyone had a good time and is looking forward to next week.  We meet again at 6 P.M. Wednesday in the L-wing.  I’m thankful for the adult volunteers and for the children who attended.  The children will be giving their offering in the next few months to make purchases for Operation Christian Child.

School supplies are being marked down for the coming year.  Check out the wreaths at church to select cards for school supplies we will need to pack our Shoeboxes.

Friday

Husbands, love your wives,

just as Christ loved the church

and gave himself up for her.

~Ephesians 5:25~

(Yesterday, while in Amite for a wake, I noticed the sign at Master Chef that always has wonderful thoughts.  The sign said, “Husbands, love your spouse”.  Later, I saw the other sign which also had a good message.  I took the opportunity to speak to the owner, Tony LaMarca, and ask him who chose the sayings and congratulate him for putting such messages out for all to see.  Tony said while getting ready for church Sunday he heard a TV pastor, Charles Stanley, talk about that.  I expressed my appreciation.  When this scripture came up on my computer this morning, I considered it to be a reminder of what happened yesterday and take the opportunity to ask you to encourage Tony and others who boldly express their faith in a public way.)

Bonnie Blue Baham,  granddaughter for Rufus and  Margie Williams, was involved in a head-on traffic accident in Hammond last night according to Bonnie’s mother, Scarlet.  Bonnie was carefully checked out and sent home.  Her mother is with her at home.  Thankfully, Bonnie has no broken bones.  Pray for Bonnie and her family.

Mr. John Alan Blackwell will be spending some time in Hood Memorial so he can get PT. Please pray for him as he continues to recover from his accident.

Mrs. Grace Chadwick is at the nursing home in Greensburg.  Please pray for her.

Mrs. Mary Varnado, Gretchen Simpson’s mother, had a pacemaker now and will be recovering from the surgery in the coming weeks.  Pray for her as she limits her activity.

Sherman Cutrer continues to improve following his last surgery and will probably get to return home next week.  Keep pray for him and his caregivers.

I found this report of the accident on highway 38 yesterday.  I’m sure you can identify prayer needs from both of these accidents.

Be strong and courageous.

for the LORD your God will be with you

wherever you go.”
