Monday Addition

Mark Shaw had a seizure and other health issues last night.  He was first taken to McComb and later to Jackson.  Coach Shaw and Ronnie are with him.  Coach said Mark seems stable now.  I know he appreciates your prayers for his family.  Thank God Mark was able to receive medical attention so quickly.

Monday

Sell your possessions and give to the poor.

Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out,

a treasure in heaven that will never fail,

where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.

For where your treasure is,

there your heart will be also.

Sunday

For the kingdom of God

is not a matter of eating and drinking,

but of righteousness,

peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

because anyone who serves Christ in this way

is pleasing to God and receives human approval.

Let us therefore make every effort

to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

Romans 14:17-19

David saw the retina specialist Friday and got a good report.  Both retinas are still attached.  The gas bubble has more breaking up to do before David can see much.  His eyedrops were discontinued and his restrictions reduced.  It’s looking better!  Please continue to pray for us.

Saturday

For I desire mercy,

not sacrifice,

and acknowledgment of God

rather than burnt offerings.

~Hosea 6:6~

Please continue to pray for Mr. Burnell Simpson and Jimmy Schwartz as well as their caregivers and family.

Prayers are still needed for those who have been, are, and will be in the path of Hurricane Matthew.  Also, pray for those who are already in place to help them recover.  We have great work done by Samaritan’s Purse and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.  They are big organizations that go wherever the need is and do it well.  I thank God for them.

that our God may make you worthy of his calling,

Tuesday Addition

Charlotte Alford called to request prayers for her daughter-in-law, Kristi Alford, and all the rest of the family as Kristi and her mother travel to Houston today and see doctors who will give them the “plan” tomorrow morning at 8:30.  Thank God for doctors and hospital facilities that have such amazing skills and sweet compassion as they treat their patients.  Pray for Jeremey as he travels to spend the weekend there, but more so on the days he cannot be with Kristi.    She and her mother are planning to stay about a week and possibly beginning Kristi’s treatment.  Pray for Kristi’s children and well as their teachers, friends, and other family members as the children face lots of unknowns and lots of questions.  May they all have peace, assurance, and strength to face whatever is ahead of them.  May they know God’s love and the love of others.  May they also know you are praying for them and feel some added strength because of your prayers.

Monday

Mr. Harlon Toney has been hospitalized in Lacombe again.  He should be able to come home today.  Pray for Mr. Harlon.

Yesterday, I saw the lady I delivered the Christian magazines to so she can use them in the jail ministry.  She was thrilled with the literature you helped me collect.  She said they usually have up to 15 inmates to come to “prayer time”.  Thursday, they had about 40!  She was thrilled.

Now she has an additional request.  She said the inmates want Bibles.  If you have any old ones you can share or if you want to purchase some new ones, she would be blessed to share them there.

The training for Operation Christmas Child Saturday was very informative and encouraging.  I was glad to have been a part of the event.  Thanks to all who attended and will participate in a Drop-Off Station.

The Lord’s Day!

But love your enemies,

do good to them,

and lend to them

without expecting to get anything back.

Then your reward will be great,

and you will be children of the Most High,

because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

Please continue to  pray for the Schwartz family.
David and I have several friends whom we are praying for.  We would appreciate you praying too.
