Mr. J.D. Smith is now at Hood Memorial Hospital.  Thankfully, he’s making good progress.  Please keep him in your prayers.

 

 

Taylor Creek Baptist Church is hosting a prayer time for the harvest.  It will be Tuesday, July 11.

 

Tonight, Rev. Darryl Miller will be introduced to the members of FBC, Kentwood.  Tomorrow, Bro. Darryl will be preaching at FBC.  You are invited to attend.

Operation Christmas Child – Waiting until the Christmas season will be too late to pack a shoebox for OCC distribution this year.  Now, is the time to do so.  We pack our boxes together at a packing party, but items need to be purchased now.  Suggestions are: flashlights with extra batteries, dolls, deflated soccer balls with a pump to inflate them, $1,00 calculators from a dollar store, and hairbrushes.  This year we cannot include candy or toothpaste.  Items you purchase can be brought to me at my Sunday School room before Sunday School.  I will store them until our packing party.

Mrs. Anne Hurst has had a difficult time since her injury, but hopefully has found the source of the problem and an adequate treatment.  Please continue to pray for her.

Mr. Jimmy Tolar is home and recovering from the problems he developed Sunday.  Keep praying for him, please.

Don’t forget to pray for Linda K. Graves of East Fork as she begins her stay in Slidell.  I’m sure she would appreciate a text or a card, but mainly your prayers.

Andy Taylor’s brother, Hal King, will be having heart surgery in McComb today.  Please pray for Hal and for his family as well as the medical staff caring for him.

Deborah Bales’ mother is very sick.  Pray for peace and comfort for her.  Pray for her family as they sit with her.

Steve Scalise has an infection that has caused him to be moved to ICU again.  Pray for Steve, his family, and those caring for him.

J.D. Smith is doing well at rehab in Hammond.  He will soon be moved to Hood Hospital where he will continue his treatment/recovery from surgery.  Your continued prayers will be greatly appreciated.

Joseph Canale of Amite/Independence has learned of a very serious condition in the medical report yesterday.  Pray for him and for his family.

Pray for one of our Roseland friends and long-time neighbors, Johnny Pritchett.  He’s in North Oaks.

Pray for another Roseland friend, Bobby Forbes.  He is still working on his recovery from heart surgery.

Pray for Nita Russell Miller.  She fell recently, but is recovering at this time.

Pray for Jimmy Tolar who is hospitalized in Baron Rouge due to heart problems.  Tom said his dad is getting a “tune-up”.

Pray for Linda Graves from East Fork.  She has been staying with her sister, but will be moving today to an inpatient hospice facility with a three patient limit.  Her phone number will remain the same, but her new address will be Linda Graves, 141 Pleasant Drive, Slidell, LA 70460.  She sends her love to all her Kentwood friends.

Mr. Phillip Harrell has been hospitalized again, but is now home.  Please continue to pray for Mr. Phillip and “Miss” Annie Belle.

Mr. Cete Dillon is doing much better.  “Miss” Ruby is also better, but the doctor wants her to stay away from crowds.  Please continue to pray for Mr. and Mrs. Cete Dillon.

Tonight, the youth of FBC who went to “Go Tell” camp will share with the church at 6 P.M.  You’ll want to be a part of this service.

  • Michelle LaBarbera Murphy of Amite got her test results.
THANK YOU ALL so much for the Prayers! GOD IS GOOD! ……..
GOOD NEWS on Michelle’s scan yesterday…… Scan showed that nothing has spread and “IT” IS SHRINKING!!!! Results being sent to surgeon. In the meantime, she will continue “the battle”.   • Mrs. Anne Hurst of Inspiration Park, Kentwood has been having problems with a leg for three weeks now.  She is not improving as quickly as she wishes.  Please keep her in your prayers each day.
  • Mrs. Virginia Stevens’ son from Gretna has indications of a return of his cancer.  Please pray for Bill Brumley.
  • First Baptist Church will be honoring First Responders tomorrow during the service and at a meal in the fellowship hall following the service.  Mike Estay will be the chef. We are asked to bring a dessert.
  • God bless the USA, greatest country on the earth!  We should pray regularly for our country.

Pray for Mr. Kent Raiford of Arcola as he undergoes tests to determine why there has been a sudden change in his health.

 

Tish Fairburn received a good report in Houston.

Went back to Dr. Oki in Houston today. More good news. There is only one spot that has lymphoma. He was expecting more. Since it is only one, I am going to have 12 radiation treatments. He said that should kill it. Start treatments on July17th. I am living proof that God does do miracles. So thankful for that.

 

Pray for Josiah Huckaby, son of Job and K.K.

We’ve had quite a few people asking about Josiah…so here’s an update: He is doing good. He is up to 8 lb.. 5.5oz. We had a set back with his lungs so he is on a Bubble CPAP now. They have been able to wean him some but it has been very slowly. As far as his g-tube, he is doing well with that. They are working towards weaning him down to 30 minute feeds every 3 hours. Still no idea when he will get to come home. One of the doctors told us he probably has a long way to go since this last set back. Today is day 114 in the NICU but God is so good & He has been so faithful to us. We have also been blessed by so much kindness during the last 3.5 months and we can’t express the gratitude & love that overwhelms our hearts…y’all know who you are.  

 

Mr. J.D. Smith celebrated his 84th birthday in rehab with lots of attention from his family.  Pray for him as he continues rehab on his new shoulder.

  • Mr. J.D. Smith is continuing to slowly improve. Keep him in your prayers as he faces the ups and downs of recovery/rehab.
  • Betty Simpson is having a very hard time with her back right now.  Let’s pray for her as she endures the pain she is going though.
  • Denise LaBarbera Rose, formerly of Amite, requests prayer for her youngest sister Michelle LaBarbera Murphy of Amite.  Michelle’s test is today.
PRAYERS NEEDED PLEASE: To all of my praying friends, please add my youngest       sister, Michelle, to your prayer lists. She has been battling “a health issue” for a couple of months and has an important CT scan tomorrow. Please pray for good results! We believe in our All Mighty God and in the power of prayer! Any and all prayers would be very much appreciated… To God be the Glory!!!
  • The youth from three of our area churches were at camp together in Georgia this week.  I understand a number of decisions were made.  Let’s pray for the youth.

Pray for Miss Fay Shoemaker who has been “under the weather”.  Add her to your prayer list.

Mrs. Bobbie Magee braved being out of her home environment to attend church Sunday.  I was so glad to see her.  She was very ill, but has come so far in her recovery.  Thank God for her improvement.

Mr. J.D. Smith has been moved to AMG Rehab and will begin his “work” there in the morning.  He’ll need to be on our prayer lists for a while as he regains use of that shoulder

Pray for J.D. Smith as he is admitted to the hospital this morning for shoulder surgery around noon.  Pray the surgery goes well allowing him more use and less pain in the future.
