Jack K. Ayres
October 21, 1931 – April 05, 2022

Jack K. Ayres, resident of Hammond, LA, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at his home. Jack was born October 21, 1931 in Knoxville, TN.. He was 90 years old at the time of his death. Jack was blessed with a beautiful and full life. He served his country in the Air Force. He was an entrepreneur, and that was easy to see as he was the owner of Ayres Men’s Clothing in Market Square, Knoxville, TN., as well as a diner on the UT campus, an appliance store, and dry cleaners. Jack was always looking for the next adventure. He loved the Lord and the opportunity to serve Him, and he did so as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Macedonia Methodist Church in Knoxville. He also sang in a gospel quartet. Jack loved to sing, he would sing anytime/anywhere. To hear him suddenly break out in song was a daily occurrence. Jack truly loved life. He loved people and absolutely never met a stranger. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary E. Kyzar Ayres of Hammond, Louisiana; daughter, Kathy Ayres Fox, Knoxville; son in law, Mike Fox, Knoxville; daughter, Karen Ayres Conway, Knoxville; son, Kenneth A. Ayres, Knoxville; grandson, Micheal Fox and wife Samantha, Knoxville; granddaughters, Alanna, Eva, and Maggie Ayres, Knoxville; great-granddaughter, Madison Fox, Knoxville; other family includes stepdaughter, Danna L. Coger and her husband Mark, Walker, Louisiana; and their daughters (Jack’s other grandchildren) Allie Seavers, Nashville, Arkansas and Audrey Atwell, Springfield, Louisiana. Other great-grandchildren Bradyn, Tristen, Keaton, and Aubrie Ann; and many other family and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his father, Sillus Ayres and mother, Bertha Peace Ayres; his brothers, Clayton Ayres and Dallas Ayres; his grandson, Matthew Fox; and son in law, Rod Conway. Visitation and services will be held at McKneely Funeral Home in Kentwood, Louisiana from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Friday and from 10:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Services will be officiated by Rev. Cory Morris, Pastor of Lewiston Baptist Church. Burial immediately following service at Lewiston Cemetery, Kentwood, Louisiana with military honors. Pallbearers will be Mark Kyzar, Tom Varnado, Jimmy “Jim” Kyzar, II , Jimmy Kyzar, III, Scott Blackburn, and Butch Moreau. Singers will be Allie Seavers – How Great Thou Art and Carissa Herbuth – The Love of God. Mckneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, Louisiana in charge of arrangements.
