Darrell Wall, who has stage four COPD, completed the testing at Ochsner yesterday and passed. He will qualify for a new lung. The next step is additional testing and checking with his insurance to see how much of the cost will be covered. Darrell asks for continued prayers. Darrell is 64.
Richard Kent “Radar” Currier
June 19, 1928 – March 16, 2021
Richard Kent Currier, known affectionately as Radar, passed away March 16, 2021. He was born June 19,1928, to Santo “Sarge” and Rosa Magliolo Currier and was a lifelong resident of Amite. He was a 1946 graduate of Amite High School where he played basketball and football and was a Charter Member of the Amite High Key Club. He served his community as a businessman, school board member, Kiwanis President, and court bailiff. He was a member of the St. Helena Catholic Church and Springview Country Club. Radar is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice Ridgedell Currier, sons Ricky Currier and wife Trudy, Amite, and Jeff Currier, Las Vegas, and his grandson Jacob V. Currier, Amite, and his fiancée Kathryn Theriot. Radar is proceeded in death by his parents and brothers Charlie Sam, Emile, Salvador, and Joseph. Special thanks to Sierra, Tasha, Angela, and Audrey for their devoted care to Radar. A Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Mark Beard at St. Helena Catholic Church in Amite, La on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 11:00am. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30am. Burial will be at Amite Memorial Gardens. “Helping Hands for Missions” will meet at 9:00 this morning in the fellowship hall of FBC, Kentwood with a focus on learning how to transform men’s shirts into dresses for girls for our shoeboxes. There will also be an opportunity to learn about other things that can be done for shoeboxes. Registration was not required, so just show up with some men’s dress shirts.
