“I love the Lord

because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy.

Because he bends down to listen,

I will pray as long as I have breath!”

~Psalm 116:1-2 NLT, 2nd ed.~

Pray for Smiley Conerly who is  having some blood pressure issues.

Susan Rimes learned yesterday that her two kidney stones are still the same, so her issues are different.  Pray for her and her family as they seek a solution to the pain she lives with.

Mrs. Velma Anthony is not only out of the hospital, but is out of the house again.  Pray for her continued improvement.

Wednesday – Update of Ken Roberts

We serve a mighty God who is showing us His medical miracles. Although Ken has a long way to go, he is waking up, talking and even sat up for 5 mins today!!!! Yes! You read it correctly!!! His mentation is not completely clear but he is smiling & communicating. He has made Kasey laugh with his funny comments & seemingly laid back demeanor. He is off all heart drips. His kidneys are slowly improving. He can’t safely swallow yet but they have started artificial nutrition. He also still has his Impella cardiac catheter which they hope to slowly wean to observe Ken’s heart ability. Everyone, including Tulane staff, are amazed by his turn-around and progress in the past 24 hours! Please continue to PRAY as we BELIEVE God hears our cries! Also, if you would like to send words of encouragement for Ken to read personally, the address is as follows:

1415 Tulane Ave

New Orleans, LA 70112

c/o CCU-Ken Roberts

God Bless and thank you for your amazing love & support!

Wednesday

“And whenever you stand praying,

if you have anything against anyone,

forgive him,

that your Father in heaven

may also forgive you your trespasses.”

~Mark 11:25, NKJV~

(That doesn’t mean that if you pray while seated, you don’t need to forgive others!)

Pray for Susan Rimes as she has another appointment today.  Kidney stones have been a frequent problem the last few years.  Let’s pray these last two will soon cease causing her problems.

Please continue to pray for Debbie Miller as she makes some changes to help improve her daily life.

Pray for Mr. Phillip Harrell as he makes a trip today to check on a medical issue.  Pray for the family as they continue to be good caregivers.

Sherry Day continues to get good reports.  Thank God for her progress.

Pray for a good attendance at Sunday School and worship this week.  You can be influenced by these times if you don’t put forth the effort to be there.

Pray for families as they continue to make adjustment to a new school year.

Pray for many of our local families who are dealing with sicknesses and deaths.

Pray for our schools as they influence our children’s lives for a major part of each day.

  • Four birthday ladies and a number of others celebrated August birthdays yesterday.  Thanks to Betty Simpson for taking charge yesterday.
  • Tomorrow is our next ladies night, “Follow the Ants to the Picnic”.  We will begin with a picnic lunch at 6:15.  I hope lots of you will be there for all we have planned including a demonstration of making a sand cake.  You don’t want to miss this event.  Invite some guests, ladies between 3 and 103 years.  No tickets needed.
  • Friday’s Bible Study at 10:00 – Rizpah (2 Samuel 21:8-14).  Can you tell her story?  If not, join us to learn her story.
  • This next week is a good time to gather some donations for the Children’s Home.  Bring your items to the church any day but Saturday.
  • The first Sunday of September will be here soon.  I trust you are freezing some food for “Food for Families”.  What a blessing it is to others.

Thank you for praying.  My family, like yours, has benefitted from the prayers of others.

Tuesday – Improved and with Additions

While posting from my phone, I must have changed the settings. Jason will help me get this back to normal. In the meantime, please put up with me.  Thanks, Jason!  I’m back!

“I cry aloud to the LORD,

and He answers me from His holy mountain.”

~Psalm 3:4, HCSB~

Thankful to be home! God watched over us all day. We had a lack of heavy traffic, successful procedures, adequate recovery time, and a safe home despite the vehicle in front of us losing two pieces of plywood which went flying and tumbling through the air landing in the left (other) lane. Thank-you to each of you who prayed.  Thank-you again!  David feels so much better today!

Monday

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you,

for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Therefore I will boast all the more gladly

about my weaknesses,

so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

That is why, for Christ’s sake,

I delight in weaknesses,

in insults,

in hardships,

in persecutions,

in difficulties.

For when I am weak, then I am strong.

From Cyndi

No change. Kidneys a little worse. They seem satisfied with the new device. Slight improvements in some areas. No change in others. Nothing really to report. He is fragile. Keep praying!!

Please continue to intervene in Ken’s behave and strength for the family.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

He did well with the placement of Impella which is a temporary VAD. Balloon pump coming out.
This was done in an effort to improve or maximize his cardiac output bc his kidneys are starting to take a hit. It remains much of the same….

It’s minute by minute, hour by hour…. Exact words…. He is going to declare himself either way in the next few days! So again, we wait and Trust God. I believe Ken is fighting & wants to live!!! He has all this amazing technology now and expert care…. We need prayers more than ever!!!! Gods will be done!!! The selfish part of all of us is wanting so desperately for him to turn than corner and hear some positive news!!! Praying for Kens miracle!!!!!!
Ok friends praying without ceasing, pray with great faith XOXO
