Tuesday

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;

his love endures forever.

~I Chronicles 16:34~

Thankfulness, Day 29 – Today, I am thankful for contentment that I have found in many aspects of my life.  There are still some areas of life that I feel we don’t want to feel contentment with.  I find it is a matter of decisions about what we value when it comes to contentment.

Mrs. Anne Hurst has a few more days at the hospital in Greensburg.  As I wrote that sentence, I realized I remember her talking about the good care she gets there.  I read “contentment” in her words.

Remember Andy Taylor and his family this morning as he has an angiogram in McComb at the heart hospital.

Monday Evening

Mrs. Margaret Callihan was headed back to Kentwood this afternoon.  Pray for her caregivers as they help her at home.

Coach Elton Shaw is in North Oaks with pneumonia and dehydration.  Please pray for him and for his family.

Andy Taylor got the result of his cardiology report.  He has an area in the lower heart that needs checking, so he will have an angiogram at 8:30 in the morning at the McComb Heart Hospital.  Please be in prayer for Andy and Betty and their family tonight and tomorrow.

Monday

From yesterday –

Thanksgiving, Day 27 – I’m thankful for the cooler weather so we can enjoy different foods. Yesterday, I made vegetable beef soup. Today, I enjoyed shrimp gumbo.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving

and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him

and praise his name.

~Psalm 100:4~

Thankfulness, Day 28 –   Today, I want to say that I always appreciate those who agree to take on responsibility when a need is presented to them.  They are dependable, so once they agree to do something, you can count on them.  Even better than that, I appreciate those who don’t have to be asked, but who can see a need and volunteer without being called upon.  I know God surely wears an extra big smile when they “volunteer”.

Ann Trappey asks for prayer or her family.  Ann’s sister, Helen Lilly, who was the primary caregiver for their mother is very ill.  Ann’s mother is recovering from another broken hip and running out of time at the present location.  Pray for Ann’s brrother as he tries to work out some things to help their family situation.  Sometimes, families carry many burdens at one time and the load seems so overwhelming.  Your prayers will me a lot to this family.

Debi Bales and her family need special prayers for their mother who is in Landmark Nursing Home.  I know your prayers will be appreciated.

Mrs. Margaret Callihan is now hospitalized in North Oaks where she will possibly have surgery next week.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Tomorrow morning, the ladies of Pine Ridge will host their monthly breakfast.  Donations will be used to help a family in need.
Thankfulness, Day 26 – Today, I’m thankful for the freedom of worship we have and all the area churches that have impacted my life or the life of my ancestors.  There is great joy in going into the church where your family attended and served three or four generations ago.  It helps you connect with people you didn’t know.  I’m thankful to say my family has a rich history of church service, which I hope I’m passing down to my descendants.  I have made several meaningful church connections since we moved to the Pine Ridge community.

Thankfulness, Day 25 – I’m thankful for our cabin.  It’s been home to family, holiday celebrations, church meetings, Third Thursday gatherings, garden clubs, birthdays celebrations, anniversaries, teacher meetings, and more.  Most gathering were good, but some were sad.  God was here for all of them.  We are blessed with this special place. Thank-you, God, for allowing us to have this special building.  May you allow us to use it much more.

Mrs. Hazel Allen is now hospitalized.  As you pray for her, please pray for her family.

David Bryant

Today & everyday I’m thankful for my family and friends who have Prayed, messaged , called and visited me at the hospital and rehabs. It’s been a long and very emotional 5months but it’s getting better every day. If anyone has to say they almost died twice in 2 months I can be the one. God spared my life twice and kept me around for a reason. Thank you all and it not over yet but I’m getting there. My parents house is being remodeled due to the flood and it been very emotional for them also.

Thankfulness, Day 24 – Today I am thankful for memories of holiday traditions.  It is easy to ponder my family traditions, both when I was a child and when my children were growing up.  David and I have enjoyed large family gatherings and wonderful food.  It doesn’t matter what the traditions have been, it’s okay to make new ones.  I’m thankful that my family overseas can have a traditional holiday with other Americans and my Georgia family never wants for company, family or otherwise.

Wednesday

Mrs. Anne Hurst is in room 103 at the St. Helena Hospital.  She has been fighting an infection and needed to get stronger medication to get better.  This is her problem that rears its ugly head periodically.  She asks that all of you pray for her because your prayers are stronger than any medication.

Wednesday

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;

his faithfulness continues through all generations.

~ Psalm 100:4-5 (NIV)~

Mr. Cete Dillon also is sick.  He and “Miss” Ruby got medical care yesterday and hopefully will be able to enjoy their Thanksgiving company.

I got the Varnado name wrong yesterday.  It is Maxine Varnado.  I have not heard how her procedure went yesterday.

David and I visited the St. Helena Hospital and Nursing Home yesterday.  We saw four sweet ladies.  Two, Mrs. Juanita Pritchett and Mrs. Grace Chadwick, are from Roseland were we grew up,  Two, Mrs. Margaret Callihan and Miss Shira Easley, are from Kentwood.  We had four great visits and are so glad we made those visits.  Believe it or now, they made us feel better!  All four are improving.  “Miss” Grace will be 95 Sunday!

I have another update on the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. The 1,126 boxes collected or dropped off in Kentwood were added to those from the surrounding area in Hammond.  The new total was 13, 786.  Those shoeboxes filled two trucks and part of another one.  They may be at their next destination already.

“Young” Ladies’ Birthday Party – Yesterday, we had eleven ladies present including two birthday ladies.  We had a great time.

Friday Morning Bible study will be in John 12.  Feel free to join us at 10:00.

“Count Your Blessings”

Thankfulness, Day 23 – Today, I’m thankful for transportation.  Some of my ancestors lived on this land four generations ago.  When I consider it takes 15 minutes to get to Kentwood today and longer to get to many other places we travel,  I am so thankful for my vehicle and the roads we travel on.
