Friday

“Come, let us return to the LORD.

He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us;

he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.

 After two days he will revive us;

on the third day he will restore us,

that we may live in his presence.

Jerry Doughty‘s heart valve replacement went well.  Thank-you for praying for him.

Jim Watson was still in the hospital the last we heard.  Please pray for Jim and Sylvia.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: WHAT IS THE ANNIE ARMSTRONG EASTER OFFERING?
A: In 1895, the first missions offering to benefit the work of home missions (now known as North American missions) was promoted and taken up by Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU). The Home Mission Board (now known as the North American Mission Board) asked for $5,000 toward its work. WMU efforts exceeded that goal. Today, more than $1 billion has been raised since the beginning of the offering, for North American mission efforts. Every dollar of the offering (named after missions advocate/WMU leader, Annie Armstrong, in 1934) goes to missionaries and their work of sharing the life-transforming gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the United States, Canada and their territories.
Q: HOW MANY MISSIONARIES DOES THE ANNIE ARMSTRONG EASTER OFFERING SUPPORT?
A: The North American Mission Board supports 5,684 missionaries in multiple categories. NAMB’s annual report provides missionary count information, as well as a summary of missions efforts. Visit namb.net/annualreport.

Thanks again to all those who donated paperback Bibles and Christian magazines.  They are are the hands of the people who lead a ministry at the jail.  We will continue to collect the PAPERBACK Bibles and Christian magazines for a future date.

Don’t forget to bring batteries and other items to the church so they can be used at the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.  There is a list available at FBC,Kentwood and of the home’s website.

If you know of anyone who needs a Sunday School class for adults, youth, or children or a combination of the above I will be glad to help them or at least steer them in the right direction.  FBC, Kentwood has a paid nursery lady of Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, Wednesday nights, etc.
