Day 6
Day Six: Bobby & Lakeisha Williams
Slidell, Louisiana
Bobby and LaKeisha Williams have a simple goal—to meet the deep need of New Orleans with the even deeper love of Christ.
In the city, some buildings are still boarded up from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The area around the Williamses’ church plant is predominantly African American and low-income. “A lot of what we strive to do is provide resources,” Bobby said. “We try to educate people spiritually, financially, intellectually, you name it.”
That’s how their church—Next Level Church—got its name. They want to see people take their life to the next level starting right where they are. The church provides its neighbors with multiple forms of assistance from health fairs to meal distribution, all with the goal of creating community and leading them to Jesus.
“Despite the challenges we’ve been able to make an impact, and we want to do even more,” Bobby said.
Prayer Requests
For Bobby and LaKeisha to persevere in ministry.
For the church’s compassion ministries to open doors to share the gospel.
Please continue to pray for Douglas Warren. Today is day # 96 for him at North Oak fighting Covid-19. He seems to be making some improvement. Keep praying.

I’ve taught homebound students and considered all they were missing out on.
I’ve know senior adults who were at home and alone for years. They surely do enjoy company.
Many people have been homebound because of Covid-19 during the past year. Their “company” is usually limited to not much more than the medical people who come to care for them.
Conveniences like drive-in pharmacies and banking help, as does grocery pickup. Connections to the “outside world” are extremely important.
Visits mean the world to the homebound. Telephone calls and cards in the mail are also special to them. We can all do more to encourage others through difficult time such as periods of homebound confinement.

Time Change This Weekend
Saturday night, you need to adjust your clocks to “spring forward”. You will lose an hour of sleep and get to church on time Sunday.
Thank-you for praying for those on your personal prayer list. It is so encouraging to hear others say they are praying for you and know they really have been doing so.
Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
I know many school bus drivers, but am thankful I am not in that group. Think of the responsibilities – Good driving skills, learning a route and new children, safety of children and those in other vehicles, monitoring what’s going on with those of the bus, keeping a bus clean and safe, etc.
Pray for school bus operators today.
Thank-you for reading and praying today. Thank-you for collecting men’s shirts for our two “Helping Hands” days. I have high expectations.
“Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, ‘How can I help?’”

Annie Armstrong Focus for Day 2 of the Week of Prayer Day 3
Prayer Focus – Those who travel long distances to get to work each day
I never traveled more than twenty-five miles to teach school each day, but I know of many who travel for more than an hour twice a day for work. Join me in praying for them today. Pray they have learned how to use that time wisely and have a good attitude about a job they are willing to drive many miles daily for.
Operation Christmas Child – “Helping Hands: Making Men’s Shirts into Dresses”
Mrs. Thelma Pierce wanted to teach some ladies how to do this because her loss of her vision is making this more and more difficult and OCC is her passion! I agreed to “get the ball rolling”. Now, it seems like it going to be a great day as ladies from all around come together. We will meet two mornings:
Saturday, March 20 at 9:00
Monday, March 22 at 10:00
If you don’t sew, come anyway. She will teach you something you can do. I will also have some tasks you can learn to help with your shoeboxes.
Bring finger foods. We will have a table set us that you can visit when you take a break.
Between today and March 20th. please pray for this mission project to be very fruitful. Pray the skills learned will be used for many years to come and bless many boys and girls through the “shoeboxes” they receive. Give me a call if you need more information.
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

Wayne L. Hagan
1954 – 2021
Wayne L. Hagan, age 66, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana surrounded by his family. Wayne was born on April 4, 1954 on an army base in Del Rio, Texas to the late June Dykes and Herman Hagan. His father passed away unexpectedly when Wayne was just an infant. He was raised in the small town of Montpelier, LA by Tom and June Dykes, his parents. Despite the great success he found in business, he remained down to earth, humble and kind. Raised by a basketball coach, his love for the game began at a young age. He was a talented athlete, who attended Southwest Mississippi Community College on a basketball scholarship. He later coached his daughters and remained an LSU fan for life. Wayne was a man of many interests and talents but he enjoyed the simple things in life.
