We will have theOCC workday this morning in the fellowship hall of FBC, Kentwood, from 9:00 to noon, and love to have you join us. We have plenty of work to do to get items ready for 400 “shoeboxes”. Feel free to join us and to bring someone with you. You will be so blessed and have the opportunity to work with and get to know people you might not usually spend time with at church.
Mother’s Day will be celebrated this weekend. Baby dedication is also a part of the service at FBC, Kentwood on this special day.
This month we will collect new pajamas for foster children in our area. It’s to help a local ministry called “Moving Mountains”. Chinero Fowler will explain this ministry and the need during worship service tomorrow.
Ask for soap and you will get soap! I haven’t counted the bars to see if we have enough for all our shoeboxes, but we have been blessed this past week with more soap than I ever received in one week. Lots of boys and girls will be blessed with soap and washcloths. The timing is perfect. We will repackage soap Saturday at our workday!
May Mission Focus – Moving Mountains Ministries
This non-profit ministry of Ellen Buford helps with basic needs of those who take in foster children Our church houses this ministry. FBC, Kentwood will be collecting new pajamas for boys and girls of all ages.
Today, I ask for prayer for a friend in his mid-60’s who learned yesterday his lungs are too bad for surgery. He has a fantastic attitude despite the news.
Patti Tyler fell again. Her knee probably needs surgery, but she will go through physical therapy first. Pray for no more falls and for a solution that will help her overcome the problem.
Several people are hospitalized. *Keith Allen had heart surgery Monday.
*Mr. George Eddie Lee is still a patient.
*Mrs. Margaret Oliver is also there.
Pray for the children of Ukraine. I’ve read that children suffer the most during times of war.
Donna Faye Cheramie
July 25, 1955 – May 3, 2022
Mrs. Donna Faye Stewart Webb Cheramie, 66, of Osyka, MS passed from this life on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at her residence.
Mrs. Donna was born in Magnolia, MS on July 25, 1955 and was the Daughter of Claudious Stewart and Faye Anita Stafford Stewart. In her earlier years, she worked on the dairy farm with her father. She enjoyed every minute of it. She loved to make jewelry. She had a rose garden that she loved to work in. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Cheramie of Osyka, MS; two sons, Billy Webb of Chatawa, MS, and Daniel Webb of Tylertown, MS; three brothers, Allen Stewart and Jeanine of Osyka, MS, Albert Stewart of Summerdale, AL, and William Patrick Stewart of Magnolia, MS; one sister, Kathy Husser and Nolan of Stoney Point, LA and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11AM at Stewart Cemetery in Gillsburg, MS.

Mrs. Mildred Birch is back at home and back connecting to Kenwood and beyond through her computer. Her faithful family is providing for her needs, but a phone call, message, card, or visit is always appreciated.
Pray for Mrs. Shirley Dick, formerly of Kentwood. She has several health issues. She fell recently and broke her him. Surgery was yesterday; it went well. Please pray for her healing now. Also, pray for her daughter, Renee, who cares for her.
Mrs. Ruby Dillon is doing better. She is thankful to be off the oxygen. She and Mr. “Cete” enjoy little visits like mose homebound people do.
I received a message this morning asking us to pray for Operation Christmas Child today, the quarterly day of prayer. Pray for the needs to be known and people with hearts to fulfill the command to do missions. Pray for the children whose lives will be impacted by a box full of needs, toys, and the story of Jesus.

Pray for our country as the abortion issue makes headlines again.
Inflation has been a big issue in our country lately. For the third time in 30 years, the cost of shipping a “shoebox” has increased. I think we can all agree that is no obstacle in how our hearts feel about getting “shoeboxes” all across the world so children can learn about Jesus.

I’m thankful Brenlee Strickland was baptized yesterday and Logan Strickland is being scheduled for baptism soon. God continues to work at FBC, Kentwood.
I’m also thankful we continue to have the online services for those unable to attend for various reasons. Thanks to all who are a part of this ministry.

Graduates are being recognized this month in our area churches. Be sure to share an encouraging word with them.
Baby dedications often are scheduled for Mother’s Day. This is certainly going to be a busy month.
Operation Christmas Child
We have a workday scheduled for Saturday morning. Come out and help get items ready for packing. We work until noon. Please bring a snack to share and a friend to work with us.
Samaritan’s Purse made a decision to increase the delivery fees to $10/box this year. Let’s work hard to pack each box so it will be a blessing to a boy or girl somewhere around the world. May the “shoebox” be a vital step in helping the children learn about Jesus.
The Bank Class has made $100.00 available for purchases to the shoebox ministry. They might not like to shop themselves, but they support this mission project. Thank-you for your generosity. Hopefully, some of this money will be used this week for extra items. Stay tuned….

JIM RABALAIS‘ surgery went well. He will have additional treatments. Please keep him in your prayers.
GLENDA HARRELL‘s continues to feel well following her pacemaker placement. Porch life was a good treatment yesterday. Keep her in your prayers.
I had two injections in my lower back yesterday. The pain management doctor gave me two days of rest instead of the usual one day. I will be enjoying some time admiring the flowers from the porch too.

We have many graduates in our area schools on various levels. Pray for each one as they progress to the next step in their lives.

I’m very thankful to report that Glenda Harrell‘s pacemaker procedure went well yesterday and that she is home and resting from “her big day”. Let’s join her in thanking God for watching over her Thursday.
Thank-you to the City Hall Sunday School Classwho donated several bags of the items we are collecting this month – soap, bandanas, bandaids, and tooth brushes. These items will be helpful in continuing work on the 400 hygiene kits we are packing.
