David and I got a very special surprise when we picked up our daughter from the airport – our grandson was with her! He is the youngest and biggest of our six grandchildren. Everyone kept it a secret that Mason was coming too. He came up behind me and said, “Grandmommy”. Jennie said I squealed when I saw him, but not her. Let’s just say I was thrilled both them were there. I’m thankful for his spring break working in the timing of this trip, even if I had no idea we were being fooled.
Boyd is working hard to help those who so greatly need it. Some volunteer teams and leaving and others arriving. May they be able to meet needs of the people in their area.
The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
Jennie will be here Tuesday – Thursday. If you happen to see us, you will see some happy smiles on our faces. We’re so thankful and blessed she will be be here. APRIL MISSIONS AT FBC, KENTWOOD

whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

I don’t know exactly all the places hit by the tornado last night, but am thankful that when I read the local news, I don’t hear of any damage or any deaths. There is no information about any weather problems at all. I have learned of damage from the Roseland area out to Stoney Point by reading Facebook.
Our story is that we were at church working on Operation Christmas Child and planning to stay until we needed to go to the sanctuary for prayer meeting. Bro. Darryl had seen us there about 4 PM. About 5 PM, he called and suggested we go home. We did. Thankfully, we didn’t have any tornado or wind damage here. Later, despite out satellite being temporarily out, we saw the prayer meeting service on a cell phone.
The article about Send Relief concerns the problem and the program Boyd is working with today in Romania. Pray for all those who work there or go there seeking help.
Please remember the people of Ukraine in your prayers. In addition to war, many of them are fighting to stay warm and to find something to eat.
Thank God that you are safe and that the weather situation did not cause deaths or great damage to our area.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 Peggy Sue Cook, a resident of Amite, LA, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home. She was born April 5, 1954 in Bogalusa, LA and was 67 years of age. She was a member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church. She spent many years providing for others and always lending a hand. She never turned anyone away, if she didn’t have it to give she would find a way to help others if they needed it. She was the most selfless and kindest person you could ever meet. Everyone knew her as mawmaw Peggy or Momma Peggy. Anyone who knew her knew how much she loved her family. She taught us many lessons of strength and forgiveness. Her love and laughter will continue to encourage us every day. You will be truly missed. She is survived by her son, Michael Ogima, Sr.; daughter, Tessa Jarrell; 3 grandchildren, Kelsey Hilbun, Michael Ogima, Jr., and Shaneah Jarrell; 4 great-grandchildren, Aubrey Kent, Klayton Evans, Hannah Ogima, and Sophia Ridgedell; sister, Tammy Rayborn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Michael Cook; son, Christopher Cook; parents, Steve Joseph Ogima and Lucille Winnie Grimes Ogima; 2 sisters, Patricia Lambert and Linda Spiers; and a brother, Steve “Bug” Ogima, Jr. A Memorial Service will be held on April 2, 2022 at 11:00AM at Tangipahoa Baptist Church. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements. For an online guestbook, visit http://www.mckneelys.com.
I have been encouraging prayer for the war in Ukraine and for the people ,as many, especially those with children and elderly relatives, left the country. It has taken many people to help in Poland where most of the refugees have traveled. The refugees are traveling to other nations as well. Southern Baptists, through their Send Relief program, have been helping. Our son-in-law, Boyd Hatchel, will be working in Romania. Pray for him and all those he encounters in the coming weeks. May he be the “hands and feet” to many displaced refugees. Boyd served as a missionary in Romania for many years and is very familiar with the geography and the language. Pray for Boyd and others called to serve there. He is enroute now. Pray for family members who are at home during this time.
Let’s pray for the leadership to find ways to end the fighting in Ukraine.
Pray for others you have on your prayer list today.
Read articles about a journeyman, a church family recovering from a tornado, a site that connects the Ukrainians to the Bible and to people who can help meet their needs, etc.
