MARY “JULIA”‘S OBITUARY
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”
Mary “Julia” Jackson Miller, age 87, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, March 25, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. She was born on October 21,1934 and became a strong, loving, and devoted woman who left a huge impact on all who knew her. Julia was a devoted Christian and a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church as well as a past member of Kentwood Baptist Church and Lewiston Baptist Church. She was a life long member and officer of the Kentwood Community Gardenettes. Julia was a housewife, dairy farmer, and retired from Croft Metals where she worked for many years. Julia loved to be outside with her plants and flowers and could often be seen in her yard doing flower beds or cutting grass. Julia took great pleasure each Spring in seeing her flowers and trees start to bloom. She was a great cook and was known for a lot of dishes especially her chicken and dumplings and banana pudding. A loving daughter, sister, and mother who loved her God, family, friends and community and is already deeply missed. She is survived by her three sons, Paul Wade Miller (Suzanne), Laird Blake Miller, and H. Calvin Miller (Lorraine), grandchildren, Sonya Anthony, Alexis Miller and Abigail Miller; and two great granddaughters, Madyson and Mikayla Watts; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Miller, parents George and Mary Lee Jackson, and brothers Nevia Jackson, Wesley “Sonny” Jackson and Roland Jackson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held in the chapel of McKneely Funeral Home, 501 Avenue G, Kentwood, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until funeral services at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Bro. Danny Smith. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Jones, Preston Jones, Barry Blades, Chris Jackson, Robert McGehee, and Rodney McGehee. The interment will follow at Lewiston Cemetery.
“You’ve gone to be with the Lord. This isn’t goodbye just so long for now. We love you, “Mom Julia” and we’ll see you again.”

It seems most of our area churches has special events yesterday. I know I certainly enjoyed lunch at noon and the special gospel music at Kentwood last night. How great it is to be a Christian and a member of a local church!
