Monday Addition

Rusty Williams is coming home today.  His family is thankful and very excited.  Continue to pray for him.

Kelly Wayne Russell of Amite will be having two, possibly three, bypasses in Baton Rouge Tuesday of next week.  Add him and his family to your prayer list.

Dad is in surgery having his port put in so he can start his chemo treatments tomorrow. This afternoon he will have radiation again, PLEASE PRAY for him to continue with good strength and spirit to endure the next couple of days. All is possible with God!! Thank you with all our hearts!!!

Frances Anne McElveen Davis
(July 25, 1945 – February 12, 2013)

Frances Anne McElveen Davis, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on February 12, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center. She was 67 years old and a resident of Amite. She was born July 25, 1945 in Independence, LA. She is a graduate of Amite High School and Northwestern State University. She spent the majority of her career working as a nurse in various clinical settings. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and she took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She was a long time member of Kedron Baptist Church. She also enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas E. Davis, Jr ; two sons, Thomas Scott Davis and wife, DeeDee and Steven Lee Davis and wife, Rebecca; five grandchildren, Harley, Christine, Kelsey, Briley and Thomas Davis; brother, Ray Hilburn McElveen, Jr. and wife, Madeleine; one sister in law, Joyce Annette Davis; and a beloved four legged buddy, Peanut. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Hilburn McElveen, Sr. and Martha Forbes McElveen; in laws, Thomas E. Davis, Sr. and Bertha Durnin Davis; and a son, Brian Patrick Davis. The family would like to thank the staff at the North Oaks Medical Center Intermediate Care Unit for their excellent care and compassion during this difficult time. The family requests that donations be sent to Kedron Baptist Church Building Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and at Kedron Baptist Church, Amite, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Robbie Lynn C. Kirby is now home after spending nine days in the hospital.  Let’s pray her health allows her be stay out of hospitals for a while.

A resident of Kentwood, she died at 4:05 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner. She was born April 12, 1938 and was 74 years of age. She is survived by her 3 sons, Clayton Blades, Larry Blades and wife, Stephanie and Jerry Blades and wife, June; 1 daughter, Cindy Harriman and husband, Kelvin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friend, Leroy Schillings. Preceded in death by husband, Melvin Dock Blades; daughter, Shirley Blades Blackwell; parents, Clyde and Beulah Smith; 9 brothers. She was a member of The Lord’s Church.     Friday morning a world wide walk will be held to remember the victims of last Friday’s tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. It is called “Walk 27″. There will be a walk at Spring Creek Elementary School for those interested in attending. We will begin with prayer at 8:25am and the walk will begin at 8:30am and end at 8:57am. We will walk a total of 27 minutes in remembrance of those who lost their lives in this horrible tragedy. We encourage everyone to attend to show support.


    Mrs. Oma Zachary is still hospitalized in Baton Rouge.  Please be in prayer for her, her family, and the caregivers.

Saturday Addition

Pray for Jan Kent Brumfield as she recovers for surgery and faces another on in three weeks.  Jan is the mother of Bradley Brumfield who recently was seriously injured in an ATV accident.  He is still recovering and may need additional surgery.

Pray for Emma Brabham and Christina Smith who were involved in a traffic accident this morning.  Pray for their families too.
