This morning at 7 A.M., my childhood neighbor, Mrs. Juanita Pritchett (89) will have surgery at Baton Rouge General to repair her aorta.  I would appreciate you praying for her even if you don’t personally know her.  If you personally know her, I know you will be praying.  Her husband, Johnny Pritchett, passed away about two weeks ago.

Please continue to pray for all the people in the path of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Jose.   Especially pray for those who just faced Irma and now have to deal with Jose.  Thank God for the many volunteers who will be working through Louisiana Disaster Relief and other organizations to help people after the storms.

Also pray for all the people who have forest fires in their areas of the western U.S.

Pray for the leaders, both politically and militarily, of countries around the world as they hopefully  work together to make our world a better place for all of us.

“Near to the Heart of God” – I remember my maternal grandmother telling me this was her favorite hymn.  That’s one of the reasons it is special to me too.

Prayer is never old-fashioned or out-of-date!  I love working with the children at church as they learn to pray!

Wednesday

Look at the birds of the air;

they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,

and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Are you not much more valuable than they?

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

~Matthew 6:26-27~

Summer and Meg have had some sleep in the midst of the storm!  Summer and I texted about three this morning.  Please continue to pray for them and others who will be visited by Hurricane Irma.

As we think about the hurricane, let’s also remember other who have or will soon face a hurricane.  In addition, our country has numerous fires burning out of control in the western states.  To top that off, we have political issues within our country and with other countries.  I want to put my hymn of the day here today.

We were in Illinois last summer and are presently seeking God’s direction for next June. We would love to talk with anyone who needs help in rebuilding God’s house after this catastrophe.
We build from the slab up and try to dry it in the week we are on site in June. We are not equipped to remodel.
