Wouldn’t you love to be able to take a turn taking care of these babies?  I would, but would need one to two others to help me.  I’ve kept twins before (nieces).  It was so much fun, but I had to be careful not to get them mixed up!  That was with two, not five!

Rhonda Gayle Bridges
(November 6, 1952 – February 4, 2013)

Rhonda Gayle Bridges (formerly Dunn) stepped into eternal life on Monday, February 4, 2013 in Beaumont, TX holding the hands of her children, her sister and her brother-in-law. She was 60, a native of Greensburg, and most recently a resident of Holden. Rhonda’s children and their spouses, Joseph Bridges and Leslie Hirstius Dunn of Metairie, Kathryn Dunn and Kevin Forrest of Holden, and her beloved grandchildren, Hayden and Amelia Dunn, Trent, Dalton, and Elizabeth Forrest will hold her in their hearts forever. Also left to cherish her memory are her mother, Virginia Martin Bridges Thigpen (Louis), her brother, Cline “Bubba” Bridges (Betty), her sister, Tammy Bridges Boudreaux (Mike), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was greeted in heaven by her father, Tom Ed Bridges, Jr. and her adored grandparents, Tom Ed, Sr. and Flois Webb Bridges, and Ethel and Effie Miller Martin. Following the exhaustion of her medicare benefits and the lack of a Louisiana facility equipped to meet her needs, Rhonda gratefully spent her last weeks in the loving and compassionate hands of caregivers in Texas, first at Oakwood Manor in Vidor, then at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital (where she enjoyed an ice cream party with her grandchildren and nephews in the ICU), and finally at Harbor House Hospice in Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, she urges her friends and family to contact legislators to impress upon them the critical need for funding to provide longterm, specialized medical services for Louisiana’s poor, elderly and disabled. Donations can be made in the name of Rhonda Bridges to the Anayat House, 2675 McFaddin St., Beaumont, TX 77702, or to Eagle Heights Community Church Hospice Outreach Program, 47318 Rufus Bankston Rd.,Tickfaw, LA 70466. Visitation at Greensburg United Methodist Church, LA Hwy 10, Greensburg, LA on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm; visitation will continue on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 8:30 am until funeral services at 10:00 am. Burial in Pine Hill Methodist Church Cemetery, Greensburg. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangments. For an online guestbook, visit http://www.mckneelys.com.

Check out this article on praying for missionaries.  Each missionary family does not go through the same difficulties, but be assured the devil likess to make things challenging for them at times, just like he does for us.

Day 33 of 90 Days of Bible Reading

2 Chronicles 23:16 -2 Chronicles 35:15

I have completed though day 32.  Actually, I completed my reading at 1:00 this morning, but I finished.   I thank God for giving me the desire to read the Bible with this plan.  I went to bed last night without finishing, but God wouldn’t let me rest until I got back up and finished.  I think that is great!

Rain or shine, hot or cold, have a great day knowing God has charge of this day.

Pray for the local guys in the National Guard who are headed to Afghanistan again.  Included in that number are Dawson and Chris (Dawson’s nephew) Primes.  They go to serve because of the love they have for those here in the States.  Pray for this group on a regular basis.

From Jeanne B. Tate

Please pray for a two year old girl, Laney Wilson.  She was born with a rare
brain disorder.  One of the problems is that is causes her sodium levels to
rise.  That is happening right now.  She is in the ICU in McComb, Ms.  If it
gets too high she can have seizures and at the worst a coma.  They have to
bring it down slowly or she could have seizures for going down too fast.
Her family would appreciate your prayers.  Thank you for your prayers.  May
the Lord be glorified.

Local ministry opportunity: Shirts and pants for men at Kentwood Manor

There is a need for clean, usable clothing for men.  If you have some men’s shirts and pants to share, please drop them off under the stairwell when you enter the office/fellowship hall building (where you buzz to have the door opened).  Most of the men wear small – medium sizes.     Thanks!

Read the Bible in 90 Days – Day 28

Read through the end of II Kings.  (I realized we have read more than 1/4 of the Bible is less than a month.  This plan has worked so well for me.  When you get deep in one section of Scriptures, you don’t turn to another book of the Bible and pick up where you left off there.)
