Thursday Addition

Thankfully, the doctors did not need to do surgery on Margaret Oliver last night.  They are trying to treat her with medication.  Please continue to pray for her.

Juanita Booty has been hospitalized again.  She needs our continued prayers.

Ora Lee Wilson is doing fine after the implant of her new pacemaker.  Ora Lee will go to McComb on the 15th for a biopsy of her salivary gland.  On the other hand, Robert  Wilson is dealing with a nasty sinus/cold-like problem.

Thursday

Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel.

Since the first day that you set your mind

to gain understanding

and to humble yourself before your God,

your words were heard,

and I have come in response to them.

Pray for “Sis” Oliver.  She had emergency surgery at OLOL last night.

Ann Trappey had come complications to arise from a biopsy.  Pray she can get the attention she needs to correct the problem.

I’m much better today.  I’m hoping for no sling and no pain medication.  Thank-you for your concern for me.

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—

not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.

This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.

PAPERBACK Bibles – Thanks to those bringing in Bibles to be given to the inmates of Tangipahoa Parish Jail.    The very Bible you bring may make a difference in a life and an eternity!  We’ll plan to collect for one more week. Then, we start again when needed.

Don’t forget to move your clocks FORWARD Saturday night.

Wednesday Afternoon UPDATED

Margaret “Sis” Oliver is in Greensburg Hospital and has been since Monday morning.  She is expected to be there until the end of the week.  Please add her to your prayer list.  I’m thankful to a mutual friend who let me know.  “Sis” Oliver has been transferred to OLOL in Baton Rouge.

David saw our family practitioner this morning and got another good report.  That’s three doctors since yesterday morning for us.  All three ended with good results.  We are so thankful!

Wednesday

He guides the humble in what is right

and teaches them his way.

Ora Lee Wilson‘s pacemaker surgery went better than expected.  She’s home!  Let’s thank God for her good report.

Mildred Birch has improved greatly in recovering from her pain pump.  That’s another thanksgiving prayer for us today.

David‘s retina specialist was pleased with David’s progress in maintaining a good eye pressure and good vision.  Thank-you for all your prayers.

Early yesterday morning, I had my own ER visit.  The short version is that after all the testing, I was told I had a strained muscle in my arm.  That is much better than I expected to hear.  I’m wearing my ugly black sling again and am so thankful my problem is minor.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

We’re beginning something new in our Friday Morning Bible Study Class.  Come join us at 10:00 in the fellowship hall of FBC, Kentwood.

Today is Wednesday, so I’m looking forward to teaching my Children in Action class tonight at 6 P.M.  Have I told you that I love my little ones?

Tuesday

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life,

turning a person from the snares of death.

Mr. Phillip Harrell is into the third week at the hospital in Greensburg.  “Miss” Annie Bell is at home.  Don, her son-in-law, was with her.  “Miss” Annie Bell and I had a wonderful visit, like old times, while the men talked.  Please pray for these two friends and for their faithful caregivers.

We also had a good visit with Debbie Miller and Jerry Brumfield.  Jerry was dressed for a church service that for a little later.  Oh, how important those services are to those who served in local churches for so many years.

Mildred Birch is also in the hospital there.  She had her pain pump removed and is much better.

According to her grandmother, Morgan Shockley is much better.  She is in need medication for a few more weeks for her heart valve problem.  Please pray for this young lady and her caring family.

Reading the Bible – Joshua 9-12 and Psalm 67

I’m so thankful to hear some of you are enjoying this reading plan.  I know I am.  For those of you who haven’t started it, you can begin any day of the year.  That day will be day one.  A year later, you will have completed the plan.  The guide is easy to follow.  I put a tiny checkmark on the paper when I read so it is easy to locate my next reading.

The associational WMU meeting at Greensburg was very good yesterday.  I know everyone who attended from the various churches was blessed by those speaking and singing.  It is such an encouragement to be a part of something that my mother participated in when I was a child.  I always wanted to go too.  Now, I’m glad I can.

Search me, God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

See if there is any offensive way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting.

~Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)~

“He Leadeth Me”

Have a wonderful day.

Monday

If my people, who are called by my name,

will humble themselves and pray

and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,

then I will hear from heaven,

and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

~2 Chronicles 7:14~

Morgan Shockley has three more weeks of getting medication to kill infection before they are going to address the heart issue.  Continuing prayers are requeted.

Pray for Ora Lee Wilson as she has her pacemaker replaced tomorrow.  Please pray,

Billie Jean Booty has been moved to New Orleans.  Prayers will be greatly appreciated.

Bettye Fussell has had a couple of good days.  Let’s pray today is another good day for her.  Pray for her as she tries to eat even though she has no appetite for food.

Mr. Phillip Harrell is still at the St. Helena Hospital.  Pray for him and his family.

Estelle Raborn is still home.  As you pray for her, please pray for her caregiver, her husband.

Sunday

“‘Love the Lord your God

with all your heart, soul, and mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment.

The second most important is similar: ‘

Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself’”

~Matthew 22:37-39 TLB~

I have an update on the Harrells.  Mr. Phillip is still at the hospital in Greensburg,  “Miss” Annie Bell and son-in-law, Don Yarborough, seem to have almost recovered from the flu and the crud.  Phyllis is hoping for the opportunity to attend church today.

when you lie down and when you get up.

Saturday

     “And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive,

as he said, these forty-five years,

ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses

while Israel wandered in the wilderness;

and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old.

As yet I am as strong this day

as I was on the day that Moses sent me;

just as my strength was then,

so now is my strength for war,

both for going out and for coming in.

Now therefore, give me this mountain

of which the Lord spoke in that day;

for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there,

and that the cities were great and fortified.

It may be that the Lord will be with me,

and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.”

~Joshua 14:10-12~

Friday Morning Bible Study is completing John today and beginning the introduction to a brief study of Ezekiel 4-8 at the request of Mrs. Bessie Hayden.  Do you have a request for out next study?

Two Rivers WMU will meet Monday at FBC, Greensburg to learn about the 2017 Annie Armstrong Offering and hear from someone who benefits from that offering in our area.  We will meet Monday at 10:00 and conclude with a potluck meal.  Everyone is invited to attend and bring a friend.  You do not have to be a member of an active WMU to attend.  All you need is a love of missions.

Don’t forget to bring new or used PAPERBACK Bibles to the meeting Monday or to FBC, Kentwood when you have a chance.  There are collection boxes under the stairwell at the office entrance and under the stairwell to the balcony.  They will be donated to inmates at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

Mary Frances Graham, sister of Jimmy Tolar, will be having surgery tomorrow in Houston.  Join with her family in praying.

Shira Easley, a friend to many, passed away Tuesday afternoon.  Thanks to those who gave me the message.  I was waiting for an obituary before posting, but have been informed that there will be a delay in getting the family together to make funeral plans.  She loved her Lord and served Him in many ways including missions and disaster relief where she was a chaplain.

Read the Bible Today – Deuteronomy 24-29 and Psalm 61-62.  My guide included readings on February 29, so I had to double up today.

Site you many want to check out:

But he knows the way that I take;

when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

My feet have closely followed his steps;

I have kept to his way without turning aside.
