Linda B. Williams requests prayers for husband, Jimmy.

Friends & Relatives, we are in need of your prayers, again. Following Jimmy’s hospitalization a few months ago after he had the heart cath, his prognosis wasn’t good. He never had recovered from the quadruple bypass surgery he had in 12/2018, and the coronary artery disease is severe. His doctor decided to have a Physical Therapist with his Home Health agency start seeing him and see if he could get his strength back. He did not progress and was discharged by his therapist. When he went to his doctor, she put the order in for Hospice so they can help Jimmy have the best quality of life possible. She explained the things Hospice can do for him that Home Health can’t. She also told us it did not mean he would only live for a certain length of time. It meant Hospice will provide services that will help make his life easier. There are no options left for treating his failing heart. He was admitted to Hospice today. Thanks in advance for your prayers for Jimmy and our family.

As you pray for the recent flooding in Texas, please know we have Baptist Disaster Relief workers there.  Below is Bro. Stan’s list of items needed.  Please note when and where they are needed.  I think if we can get items Sunday, we will be able to get them to Franklinton first thing Monday morning.

BASELA Family- We will be collecting the following items for the churches impacted by the flooding in Texas. We have disaster relief volunteers working in the Hamshire, TX and surrounding areas. Supplies can be taken to the Missions Office in Franklinton (2116 Washington St) or to FBC St. Francesville (12404 Hwy 10). Supplies will be collected through Monday Morning.
Diapers
Feminine hygiene products
paper towels
Gatorade and other sports drinks
THESE ARE THE ONLY ITEMS BEING COLLECTED! Please do not bring clothes, water or any other items!!! This is at the request of the receiving church.

Wednesday

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Operation Christmas Child could use your support as we prepare to ship shoeboxes.  One way you can help is to come to the fellowship hall this afternoon or Saturday to work on shoeboxes.  We will be filling them next month.  Another way you can help them is to share the joy of paying shipping.  The boxes will need $9.00 each to get them to their destination.  As someone who has shipped boxes internationally for more than twenty years, I can tell you the cost of shipping the boxes is a real bargain.

The senior adult revival will be held at FBC, Kentwood this morning.  At nine, coffee and donuts will be ready.  The choir will practice at 9:30.  Worship begins at 10:00 followed by lunch.  It is always a blessing be a part of the senior adult revival.  Today is the last day, so I hope you make the effort to attend today.

Today is “See You at the Pole” day for students.  As far as I know, all area schools are involved in this.  As a teacher, I was blessed to attend a number of years, starting the very first year.  What a witness it is when students share their faith with other students!  Also, tonight area youth are invited to FBC, Kentwood where there will be a celebration of the day’s big event.   This will begin at 6:30 P.M. at the Lighthouse, which is just north of FBC, K.  The flyer for this event is on my Facebook page.

“Miss” Ruby Dillon is home!  Pray for her as she regains her strength after spending a week in the hospital.

I haven’t given an update on David in a while.  He is doing well despite his two terminal illnesses.  Yesterday, his blood level was 8.6, the highest it has been in a long time.  The increased amount of Procrit has been credited with helping him.  His oncologist is leaving Ochsner to be in an area nearer family members.  We hate to see him go, but understand his situation.

The Two Rivers Senior Adult Revival will be at MBC this morning.

We will meet in the fellowship hall of FBC,K at 1 P.M. today to paint and fold shoeboxes.  Feel free to join us.

For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.”

~Philippians 3:9 NLT~

When we got to church yesterday, I learned that this is the week for the Two Rivers Senior Adult Revival.  I changed the time of working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday to 1 P.M. to avoid a conflict.  Now, we will be painting inside the lids of shoe boxes and folding the boxes at 1 P.M. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday.  Everyone is invited to help us prepare for packing the shoeboxes.  It’s always fun to work in a group.  The greatest benefit is that boys and girls will get gifts and the opportunity to learn about Jesus!

Senior Adult Revival services begin at 10 A.M.

  • Monday – New Zion
  • Tuesday – Montpelier
  • Wednesday – Kentwood

Next Sunday, there will be a Fifth Sunday Singing at 6 P.M. at FBC, Kentwood.

Pleasee add Smiley Conerly’s name to your prayer list.  He has been having some issues lately and will be seeing a cardiologist this morning in Hattisburg.

Today, I am thanking God that David and I were able to go to both the morning AND EVENING worship services yesterday.  It’s been a long time!  That shows that despite his serious and non-curable health problems, he is better than he has been.  To God be the glory!
