Thursday

“Come, let us return to the LORD.

He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us;

he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.

After two days he will revive us;

on the third day he will restore us,

that we may live in his presence.

~Hosea 6:1-2~

Please continue to pray for Mansell Stinson.  He has had complications following surgery and is still hospitalized.

Fantastic news!  Johnny Belgard learned yesterday that he is well well enough to plan to go home Monday.  Johnny and Susan will be thrilled to be home after four and a half months of hospital time.

Wednesday

One thing I ask from the LORD,

this only do I seek:

that I may dwell in the house of the LORD

all the days of my life,

to gaze on the beauty of the LORD

and to seek him in his temple.

Pray for Koltyn Gafford who is hospitalized for some new testing.  Pray for his family.  They already have a heavy burden.

Kitty Bennett Lapeyrolerie, daughter of Harold and Elaine Bennett, is hospitalized in Baton Rouge for what seems to be complications of fluid buildup and pneumonia.   As you pray for her, pray for her husband, sons, and their families.

A number of Americans were in Brussells when explosions rocked the city yesterday.  Some of them are telling amazing stories.  Rhonda and Allan McGehee were sitting on a plan waiting to get off.  They are safe with their daughter and her family now.  Thank God for protecting many people.  Pray for those who were injured and the families of all who were injured.  The people who were there had life-changing experiences!

Let’s “Tell the Story” today.

Tuesday Addition

I’m back for part two….

Mrs. Estelle Raborn and Mr. John Phillips are both doing better now.  There are both still hospitalized at North Oaks, but the day of going home are getting closer.

Mrs. Judi Grimes Correnti is at her daughter’s home in Independence.  Please pray for this family as they are facing some difficult days.

Pray for the victims to the recent floods in our area.  There are lots of ways you can help.  I trust each of you/your churches are showing God’s love through this wonderful opportunity we have right here.

Pray for the world situation today.  We need to keep our political leaders on our prayer lists on days like today in Brussels and on all the other days too!  As we pray for them, let’s also pray for our religious leaders. There are so many lost who still need the Savior!

Devotional, Scripture, a Quote, and a Song

Have a great evening.  I’ll ‘see” you again it the morning, if it is the Lord’s will.

Sunday

So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm

and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you,

whether by word of mouth or by letter

Mr. John Phillips will be at North Oaks for a few more days.  Keep praying for him.

Jason attended the funeral for his friend Bobby Black yesterday.  David and I would love to tell you a little about Bobby and his awesome life.  His service yesterday reflected the awesome witness Bobby was and was held in a packed mega-church.  Bobby accomplished much in his 43 years and impacted so many lives!

David and I attended the wake for Mrs. Willene Howell yesterday.  Her life was simple and focused on God and family.  She impacted her family and friends with her love and the sweet love she had for her Jesus.  She join her husband in Heaven just a few short days after his arrival there.

Tonight at 7 P.M. on Fox News, a program, “Passion”, will be broadcast live from New Orleans.  The ads show a modern day interpretation of some of the life of Jesus.  It could possibly be instrumental in the lives of many people.  I’m going to give it some of my time.  You may want to check it our too.

Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and pastor’s home have made more progress in recovery from the 2016 flood.  Give them some support with time, money, meals, etc.

Johnny Belgard is so much better.  He is in the transplant step-down unit at Ochsner.  After four months of hospitalization, he seems to be better.  We visited Johnny. Joey and Rory Feek – http://thislifeilive.com/dust-to-dust/

The Baptist Disaster Relief meeting is at FBC, Franklinton at 3:00 this afternoon.  Each church needs to have some representation there.  A disaster relief team will be working to make damage assessments in our area through Wednesday. If you, or someone you know, has problems from the flooding, call the church office, 229-8111, and give a name, number, and address.  The team will take it from there.

Even though we are high and dry, many people are not.  Please pray for all those fighting flooding.  We have friends and family members in this situation, as do all of you.  Let’s pray and “put feet to those prayers”!

If you did not move your clocks one hour ahead last night, please don’t forget to do so this morning.

Scripture Writing – I seem to be off a day on my list.  I may have skipped a day, done the same one twice, or simply not checked off my paper, so I am listing the Scriptures for the 12th and the 13th this morning.

Operation Christmas Child – We are going to wait a few more months before we begin gathering items for OCC, but if you can always write a check to  FBC Samaritan’s Purse and turn it in to the church office at any time.

The heavy rain/flood has done much damage throughout our area.  Countless volunteers have been working since before the heavy rain got her and are still working.  Churches and other organizations are helping.  The area Baptist Churches will be meeting tomorrow at 3:00 at the missions office in Franklinton to organize plans for helping.  You are welcome to attend the meeting a participate in some of the work that is to follow.

Two churches of the many churches that had heavy damage are Mt. Nebo east of Roseland and Stateline Baptist Church in Washington Parish .  Mt. Nebo did not have flood insurance.   FBC, Kentwood had water in the basement area and the Lighthouse.  Work has already been done to improve the situation there.  Sunday School classes will probably be relocated in the morning.  Also, the AC has been used to help dry out water, so be prepared for it to be cooler than usual in the sanctuary.

Please pray for Mt. Nebo and Stateline churches and all the others that I do not about yet. Be available to do what you can to help them and for all the individual families throughout our area that were flooded

Thank God for all those who stepped up/in to help beginning with the first drops and continuing as long as needed.  Thank God that for safety of thousands of people over the last few days.
