It’s here!  February 25th!  “Warming the Heart”

I’ll be looking for lots of ladies, ages 3-103, tonight at 6:15.  Tonight, Sue Connelly has a craft for us to make.  Sue also decorated the room for us.  It is beautiful!  I’m praying for a full room tonight.  That would be a real blessing to us and to you!

Thanks for reading and praying today.

Wednesday

The LORD your God is with you,

the Mighty Warrior who saves.

He will take great delight in you;

in his love he will no longer rebuke you,

but will rejoice over you with singing.”

~Zephaniah 3:17~

Pray for Jimmy R. Williams and Linda.  He is in ICU at The Heart Hospital.  His blood pressure is down since he started treatment.  Thank God for his improvement.

Corrine Watson‘s surgery will be delayed a while.  She will have time to get stronger.  Robotic, less invasive surgery, will be done at Ochsner in New Orleans.  Pray she does get stronger during this time.

Brenda Russell asks for more prayers for Jeana who is hospitalized again.  Thank God for Ricky and Brenda who have helped with her care for many years.

Gloria Gill will have a heart ablation at Lacombe in April.  Pray for her as she goes through preliminary testing and waits for that day of her procedure.

Mike Moore of West Monroe saw his eye cancer specialist yesterday.  He got another good report.  This trip to the doctor was especially difficult because two people with the same problem and from the same area recently passed away.  Thank God for good reports and medical personnel who give amazing treatment.

Beverly Birdsong’s mother has been ill for a while.  Please continue to pray.

Updates on a few recent events

  • The Third Thursday gathering at the cabin last week went very well despite the rain.  Rain did not hamper the abundant meal, the sweet fellowship, the wonderful music, or the special devotional that was shared.
  • The breakfast at Pine Ridge was well attended.  A nice offering was taken that will be helpful to a local family.
  • The movie, “War Room”, was well attended at New Zion Baptist Church Sunday night.
  • The ladies of Pine Ridge completed Bad Girls of the Bible Monday night.  Next month, they will begin “War Room”, the study.  Contact Jana Smith or any lady of the church if you need more information.
  • The “young” ladies of FBC, Kentwood had a large number at The Cafe yesterday for the birthday party.

Looking ahead

  • The ladies of FBC, Kentwood will study the last verses of John 1 Friday at 10 A.M.
  • It’s never too late to contribute to the Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions.

  • The next Third Thursday Gathering will be February 18th at 6:30.
  • The next Ladies’ Night will be February 25th at 6:15 at FBC.Kentwood.

Do something to help a family that is hurting.  You’ll be blessed more than they will.

Continue to pray for Mr. and Mrs. James Miller.  Remember the upcoming blood drive.  Please call FBC, Kentwood at 229-8111 to sign up.  The blood drive will be January 24 from 9:00 to 3:00.

Continue to pray for Mrs. Tulie Dean who is still getting therapy at Hood Memorial.

Pray for Susan Rimes as she continues testing to determine which nerves are causing her problems.  Hopefully, this will give her some relief.

Please continue to pray for Harrell Sharkey as he prepared for surgery on Feb. 1.

David and I are very thankful and blessed to share that the spot in his lung is NOT cancer. Please continue to pray as cultures are grown to determine what the problem is.  One good thing we have learned is that David can go ahead with the ablation.  This morning he will be contacting doctors and “getting that ball rolling” again.

Also, Keith Womack is to have back surgery this week.  Let’s pray he will be relieved of the pain when this is done.

Please pray for the Blackwell family.  Mr. John Alan lost a sister-in-law.  She did not live here, but will be buried here Saturday morning.

Mrs. Mary Nell Kliesch is still at North Oaks.  It seems she is making progress.  Please continue to pray for this sweet lady.

Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions We have reached 87% of our goal. Hopefully, we will soon be at more than 100%.  If you read The Prayer Link, you probably know that there is a great financial need to keep missionaries on the field.  Let give again, not focusing on the goal, but on the need.

New Years Eve

Great peace have they who love your law,

and nothing can make them stumble.

~ Psalm 119:165~

Today is the day left to choose a Bible reading plan for 2016.  Bro. Joey mentioned plans at prayer meeting last night.  Bro. Don Meadows posted his on Facebook this morning.  I will be doing Scripture Writing and have already shared the January Scriptures with others.  I plan to share daily on here, but if someone wants it by the month or year, please ask me to send it to them that way.

Please pray for my friend and former student, Lisa Whitner Carruth, who begins her next round of treatment today.

Update on Mrs. Mary Nell Kliesch shared by her daughter-in-law, Pam:

Good day for Mrs. Mary Kliesch…tests showed no blockages, she got the tube removed, and she is able to eat a liquid diet. We just need to pray that she can stand and walk soon! Thank you everybody for the prayers…they worked and the Lord blessed her.

There will be a blood drive on January 24th to replace blood used by Mr. James Miller.  That’s a Sunday.  The plans are to begin in the morning and continue into the afternoon, but the exact hours are not established yet.  Soon, you will be able to call the church office and schedule a time to give.
