Friday Morning Bible Study will not meet next week due to VBS, but will next meet on June 17th.  At that time we will begin John 7.  See me if you wish to have a study guide.

Operation Christmas Child – June collection items have been added to the wreaths.  Purchased items can be taken to my Sunday School room next to the choir room.  I get so excited when I purchase more items.  I also get excited when I see that others are becoming involved in helping with this worthy cause.  If you need help in any way, please ask me.

Be alert to sudden changes in the weather for the next few days.  Most of us don’t have to be concerned with flooding, but the lightning and hard rains can cause problems too.

I have loved to listen to this lady for years without ever dreaming the story of her life was anything like I just read.  My respect  for her has grown tremendously in the last few minutes. Thankfully,I grew up in much better circumstances.  I’m able to follow and serve the same God Ethel knew and loved.  How blessed I am!

Two Missionaries Killed in Jamaicahttp://www.christianpost.com/news/american-missionaries-found-brutally-murdered-jamaica-163181/

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace,

the God we serve is able to deliver us from it,

and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.

But even if he does not,

we want you to know, Your Majesty,

that we will not serve your gods

or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

~Daniel 3: 17-18~

I didn’t look for this verse to go with that article.  It came to my computer.

Let’s continue to pray for Jeff Tolar as he has back surgery, his fourth one, today.

Caleb Smith, son of Dr. and Mrs. Danny Smith of Spring Creek, was ordained to the ministry Sunday and serving at Bethany of Baywood Church.   Let’s pray for this young man and for the church where he will be serving.  I heard him speak a couple times and felt he was sharing from a tender heart.

Mr. J.D. Smith will be having an outpatient procedure at 9:20 Thursday morning at Advanced Pain Management in Hammond.  He would appreciate your prayers.

Bobby Simpson‘s back procedure went well yesterday.  Thank you for your continued prayers.

Macy Gueldner – I saved the best for last.  Macy is completing her chemo.  I am thrilled.  I remember when Macy’s grandmother contacted me to pray for Macy at the beginning.  Since then, the grandmother, Martha Drago, has had to fight a battle with cancer.  I am so thankful to know they are both doing so well today.

Go to the Caring Bridge and review the pictures and memories of our journey with Macy and her family.

Here it is, the end of the tunnel. Some roads throughout this journey seemed impassable, but somehow we triumphed and the light is now shining bright. I never thought it would be so difficult to find the words to describe my emotions. Despite the many tough hands that we’ve been dealt, I still keep my emotions private. But, this moment has brought forth  a surge of some of the most powerful and unexpected feelings that I’ve ever felt.
I feel a great sense of pride. I’m proud of my husband and our marriage. I’m proud of Cate. This has been a burdensome and exhausting journey for our family; however, our family bonds have only become stronger.
Macy has just 2 more weeks of chemo remaining. Tomorrow we will celebrate the end of her treatment in Baton Rouge. These doctors and nurses have become our family. They’ve been a weekly part of our lives for nearly 3 years. It will be sweet to leave the chemo behind, but so very bitter to say goodbye to everyone in our clinic who genuinely and deeply loves Macy.
To my dearest Macy,
You are a marvel. Your strength is immeasurable; your fight is valiant. You display a vast amount of courage. You love deeply. You show such resilience each and every day. You are my hero. You are my sunshine.
When I was 17 weeks pregnant with you, we were given the diagnosis of DS. I cried. I cried a lot. Then, I abruptly stopped and thought, “If anyone in the world has to stand behind you, to love you, to support you, it must be I. I am your mom.” And, I’ve been trying every day since that moment to be the very best mom to you. You make it easy for me.
In the words of Dr. Seuss, and the theme of your celebration, “You’re off to great places, today is your day. You’re mountain is waiting, so… get on your way.”
“Oh the places you’ll go!”
