“Ten Tips for Leading Kids to Christ” – by Thom S. Rainer – http://ftc.co/resource-library/1/2422?utm_source=ThomRainer.com&utm_campaign=63a3892506-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_TEDS&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_10c78481d1-63a3892506-74867321

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”                                                                ~Matthew 19-14 NIV~

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.                    ~Luke 18:16~

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.                                                                                                                                                                                       ~Mark 10:14~

I know many of you have been praying for Jeana, who is in her mid 40’s.  Her mother, Brenda Russell of Chesbrough, shared this:

As of today jeana’s social worker is trying to find her a long-term facility for her to be moved to. She’s still in alot of pain and her doctor says she needs round the clock care for the wound he says it’s too much for us to handle at home. Please continue to pray for her she’s really depressed at this time. Thanking all of u in advance for ur prayers. It’s gonna be hard but with God’s help we will get through this too

I hope you enjoy this version with children quoting the Scripture and singing.    I think that is appropriate for my next  comment.

This evening at 6 P.M., we will gather with our church families to guide children as they help pack 325 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.  What a great opportunity it is to teach children about what happened long ago in a land far away that directly impacts our lives, even today.  It also teaches our children about how some children are not as blessed as they are and how they can be a part of blessing children with a box of hygiene items and small gifts.  It teaches missions and love to them.  Mostly, it is an opportunity to teach everyone about the love of Jesus!

I hope to see you and your family at First Baptist Church, Kentwood at 6:00 P.M.  Many churches, schools, and other organizations will also be collecting items and putting items together for Operation Christmas Child.  FBC, Kentwood has been honored to be a Drop-Off Station for all those in our area.  The national date for that is November 14-21.  You can check the Samaritan’s Purse web site to see a list of all area sites and their hours of service.

I’m so thankful for all who are able to participate in Operation Christmas Child and for Samaritan’s Purse for giving us the opportunity to participate.

Children in Action

Last night the children learned about missionaries who helped people purify water, put in wells, tutor children, and provided health supplies to those who are sick.  It was fun to watch them do activities and play games as they learned.  We also signed a birthday card for a MK and completed a candy craft.  Hurry up Wednesdays!

Packing Party

Plan to be a part of this special event Saturday at 6 P.M.

I’m as excited as a child looking forward to this Christmas (Party)!

Continue to pray for our country as we move closer to election day.

Operation Christmas Child is one of the greatest mission projects we do at FBC, Kentwood.  During the last few months, we have collected socks, hats, notebooks, flashlights, erasers, dolls, brushes, and many other items that we will pack into shoeboxes Saturday at 6 P.M.  Yesterday, we did one of our final tasks, filling zipper storage bags with candy.  I thank all who supplied candy and those who came to put the candy into bags.  What fun it is to think of children opening their boxes and finding their bags of candy and lots of other things. Most of all, I’m thankful we are packing Jesus into each box and providing children with the opportunity to learn about Jesus through classes that will be taught in the following weeks.  See you Saturday!

Thank you for reading and praying.  Also, thank you for all you do!

Anna Lee

Monday

who began the good work within you,

will continue his work until it is finally finished

on the day when Christ Jesus returns”

Lilyon Creel Brister – Mother of Brenda Edwards and brother of Dwaine Creel
I do not list the elections daily, but it’s in my thoughts and prayers.  It’s less than three weeks away.
I want to end this with something very positive.  The church chimes are back in operation! I heard about them Monday and heard them myself before missions last night.  Oh, how good it was to hear them again.  Thank-you to those who helped get them ringing again!

Saturday

You, LORD, are my lamp;

the LORD turns my darkness into light.

Good news from Brenda Russell , Jeana’s mom – Jeanas surgeon just came by he says he not worried and instead of having to operate they are gonna put wound vac in later this morning bedside. All i can say is God is so good and answered prayers. Thank all of u for ur prayers

got a good report on his last round of tests.  We are thanking God for the good news.

Mr. Harlon Toney has been undergoing medical tests.  Some results are leading to more testing.  Please pray for Mr. Harlon and his family.

My David is able to see!  For a while he wondered if that was going to happen.  His vision is far from perfect, but it continues to slowly improve.  The gas bubble in the right eye has not broken up yet.  We’re looking ahead with hopes for better vision.

David and I are blessed to have the “cabin”.  We had company last week.  Now, we are preparing for three events for next week.  We thank Him for allowing us to have this special place.

Third Thursday – One of our gatherings at the cabin next week is the monthly Third Thursday that is so special to us.  Every month, I say it is the best night of the month.  I fully expect Thursday to be the same way.  We meet at 6:30, if you want to see for yourself.

Operation Christmas Child  We are coming to the conclusion of our collecting and preparing for packing shoeboxes in two weeks.  Two weeks from today, we will be filling the shoeboxes.  Then, this time next month, we will be a drop-off location for the first time.  I believe in Operation Christmas Child because David and I have seen it at work!

The Schwartz family continues to ask us to pray for God’s mercy and comfort as Jimmy goes through some difficult days.

George Eddie Lee is doing better this week than last week.  Thank God for that improvement.

Operation Christmas Child “Shoebox” Folding – Yesterday morning, a number of people gathered to help prepare our shoeboxes for packing at the end of the month.  Even though we are doing more boxes than ever before, the boxes were complete and neatly stacked by groups in two hours!  That’s good, but the very best part is that there was such a sweet, loving spirit that could not be denied.   We all felt so blessed to be a part of doing something special to help children around the world have some meaningful gifts, but mainly to have the opportunity to learn about Jesus and his love for them.

Opportunity – Thursday, at 10:30, we will be at Kentwood Manor.  Join us in being a  bright spot in their lives this week.  Bubba Roberts and his guitar will be part of the group and such a joy to the residents.

Be an instrument of joy, peace, and contentment this week.
