Monday

He gives strength to the weary

and increases the power of the weak.

~Isaiah 40:29~

I’ve seen so many weary people in doctor offices and hospitals.

We’re going again today.

Lord, help people to feel your strength as they go through difficult times.

Please pray for David’s family this week.  His brother, Jimmy, is having a procedure this morning in Baton Rouge.  He nephew by marriage passed away and will be remembered at a memorial service Thursday.

Thursday

You are my refuge and my shield;

I have put my hope in your word

~Psalm 119:114~

Mr. James Miller had received blood and platelets again when we saw him yesterday.  He was feeling better and had gone most of the night without being given oxygen.  There was a possibility of him being moved out of ICU.  I will check on that today.

Keith Womack had his back procedure and is now feeling much better.

David has his ablation scheduled for March 3rd.  He has been cleared of all the concerns that came about because of the CT scan.  Thanks to all who have prayed for him.

Rain or shine, we will gather tonight at 6:30 for our Third Thursday Meeting.  A number of musicians have plans to be with us.  We are looking forward to another good night.

Friday Morning Bible Study will study  another portion of John, chapter 1.  You are invited to join us.

Sunday morning at 8:00, the Pine Ridge family will serve a delicious breakfast buffet. They accept donations for their mission projects.

Diane Frazier sang at Young at Heart at New Zion Tuesday.  She did an awesome job.  I only knew one of the songs she chose, so I got to hear some new ones.  They told stories that touched my heart.  I was blessed.

Tuesday, the “Young” Ladies of FBC will gather to celebrate birthdays.  We will meet at 11:00 at The Cafe in Kentwood.  Feel free to join us.

Tuesday

You will keep in perfect peace

him whose mind is steadfast,

because he trusts in you.

Mr. James Miller is still at St. Tammany.  Keep praying.

David got an excellent report yesterday.  He received an all-clear on the report that had been so concerning and had put his ablation on hold.  David has an appointment tomorrow and will hopefully reschedule the ablation.  Thank-you to all of you who prayed for David.  We are back where we were several months ago and looking for a permanent end to the A-fib!  It’s amazing how one test report can change everything so quickly, God clears it all up, and gives a green light and a big wink!

Continue to pray for Mr. and Mrs. James Miller.  Remember the upcoming blood drive.  Please call FBC, Kentwood at 229-8111 to sign up.  The blood drive will be January 24 from 9:00 to 3:00.

Continue to pray for Mrs. Tulie Dean who is still getting therapy at Hood Memorial.

Pray for Susan Rimes as she continues testing to determine which nerves are causing her problems.  Hopefully, this will give her some relief.

Please continue to pray for Harrell Sharkey as he prepared for surgery on Feb. 1.

David and I are very thankful and blessed to share that the spot in his lung is NOT cancer. Please continue to pray as cultures are grown to determine what the problem is.  One good thing we have learned is that David can go ahead with the ablation.  This morning he will be contacting doctors and “getting that ball rolling” again.

Also, Keith Womack is to have back surgery this week.  Let’s pray he will be relieved of the pain when this is done.

Please pray for the Blackwell family.  Mr. John Alan lost a sister-in-law.  She did not live here, but will be buried here Saturday morning.

Mrs. Mary Kliesch has a very good doctor who is trying to get her into a good rehab facility. Please help us pray that it will work out. She still has a long way to go to regain strength and physical abilities.                                                        Written by Pam Kliesch

Monday

The weather alerts on my phone got me us even earlier than usual.  I’m thankful the worst of the weather did not last too long here.  Please pray for others who are in the path of the bad weather today.

On coming to the house,

they saw the child with his mother Mary,

and they bowed down and worshiped him.

Then they opened their treasures

and presented him with gifts of gold

and of incense

and of myrrh.

And having been warned in a dream

not to go back to Herod,

they returned to their country by another route.

Tuesday Evening

Mr. Larry Watts is in North Oaks and undergoing tests.

Mr. James Miller needs to be in our prayers daily.  He completed the second day of injections today. It’s on to day three tomorrow.  Just going to Covington daily is very tiring.

David had a PET scan today.  He sees a doctor at Ochsner in Baton Rouge late tomorrow afternoon.
