Tuesday

The Word became flesh

and took up residence among us.

We observed His glory,

the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father,

full of grace and truth.”

Our friend, Johnny Belgard of Chesbrough, has a liver available for transplant.  The transplant was scheduled for Monday night, some time after midnight.  Since I’m up extra early, I plan to pray until I hear the procedure is over.  When you read this, please pray too.

Mr. James Miller needed blood yesterday.  He will be going for another unit this morning.  Pray all goes well today.

Wonderful news, Jack McCarte, “Miss” Mary Miller’s son-in-law is doing very well and was moved to a regular hospital room yesterday afternoon.  The family is very relieved and thankful.  “Miss” Mary asked me to pass her appreciation on to you.

Jadon’s Journey – 12-8-15

(Jadon) had a great checkup today with his neurologist. He read all 4 of the words she wrote down for him. She was very impressed with him and his progress. We just love her. She was able to get a $4000 test approved for Jadon. This test will give us lots of information on how his brain functions. We are now on the 2 month waiting list for a neuropsychological test. She also had to show Jadon off to her nurses. She made him walk, talk, and put his hands above his head. She then showed them the CT scan of Jadon’s half brain. Of course they couldn’t believe it. She loves showing him off. She calls him miracle boy.

Kentwood Manor
It was a joy to give packages to the patients at Kentwood Manor early yesterday evening.  A group from FBC, Kentwood sang Christmas carols to guitar music as we walked up and down the halls giving out packages.  Members contributed the items we distributed.  The packages and the caroling were big hits!

‘Eye has not seen,

nor have entered into the heart of man

the things which God has prepared

for those who love Him.’”

Jesus was a big part of the plan.
Let’s celebrate Jesus this holiday season.
It’s called Christmas!

Mr. James Miller was given blood yesterday and will receive more today.  Pray for Mr. James and “Miss” Mary as they spend more time with medical people.  He has home health also.  It has been very good.

Bonus Devotional, Scripture, and Song

We all have certain days that have special meaning in our lives.  Sometimes, it’s good.  Sometimes, it’s sad.  Today is one of those days for me.  My grandmother, Jennie Lee Wilkinson Draughon, passed away early on a Sunday morning.  Jennie, my daughter, was almost three and the only great, grandchild.  She saw my mother, my two aunts, and I sitting at the breakfast room table.  There were tears.  Jennie looked around and said, “Why are you crying?  “Ganky” is in heaven today!”  You can only imagine the smiles, more tears, and and big hugs with kisses she received from everyone.

Heaven is surely a wonderful place to celebrate Christmas!

Monday

“The King will reply,

‘I tell you the truth,

whatever you did

for one of the least of these

brothers of mine,

you did for me.’

~Matthew 25:40~

During the holiday season, most of us will be doing special things for others.  Doing and giving is wonderful and one of the lessons that God wants us to learn early and do for many years.  I’m thankful when I hear of all those who are being blessed by our gifts of food, time, transportation, etc.  I hope this will continue all year long for all of us.

Mr. James Miller will be going to his doctor today for an update.  Pray for Mr. James and “Miss” Mary as they travel today and as they hear the report.  As you pray for them, don’t forget to pray for her son-in-law who is having a heart procedure this morning in Jackson.

Sunday and Sunday Night

I apologize for my post not publishing this morning.  I saw it “unpublished” and few minutes ago, but when I tried to publish it, it disappeared.  Jason checked for it and cannot find it either.  I’ll try to add some highlights and add a request from Mrs. Mary Miller and a new obituary tonight.

Mrs. Flo Hatcher has been enjoying her company.  She has good caregivers, including her daughter, Julee.

Linda Blount Johnson lives in Arcola.  She is having a pain in her hip and trouble walking.  She would like you to pray for her.

Landon Estay wrote this about his baby daughter.

Claire Isabella Estay was delivered stillborn at 12:47 AM this morning. She is beautiful with a head full of hair.

On behalf of me and my family, I want to thank each and every one of you who have reached out to us. I haven’t responded to most of you, but each message is appreciated and makes us feel loved.

Memorial arrangements will be announced once finalized. We will have one in Texas and one in Louisiana. Again, thank you all for your love and caring.

Mrs. Mary Miller requests prayer for her son-in-law, Jack McCarte (53), who will be having heart surgery at St. Dominic’s in Jackson, MS early tomorrow morning.  Hopefully, a stent is all that will be needed because previous health issues will make open-heart more of a risk.  Please pray for Jack and all involved in the surgery.
