he performs signs and wonders

in the heavens and on the earth.

He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

Martha P. Drago

Today I completed a journey that started exactly nine months ago. When this all started I thought it was going to be all doom and gloom. I imagined the absolute worst of times and it would have been had I not surrendered completely to God. The last nine months have been a blessing to me in so many ways! I’m not saying it hasn’t been difficult at times or without some tears, but I have learned to trust God more than I ever thought possible, I have learned to be grateful for today, God has my tomorrow. I have seen what the power of prayer can do, I have realized what a truly wonderful family I have and God has placed amazing people in my path! I have learned that my God was bigger than anything I was facing. I have also learned that no matter what you are going through, there are people who are in tougher situations. Pray for them! I have learned that I have some pretty awesome friends too! Friends that offered to drive me for treatment, friends who lent shoulders to cry on, friends who prayed for me and asked others to pray for me, a friend who showed up on my first visit to Mary Bird because I had a melt down when I saw the words “cancer center” and it hit me why I was really there!!! I am so grateful for my church family!! The love, support and prayers I received from them was phenomenal !!! They are an awesome group of people!!!

So I want to finish by saying that I am truly grateful and humbled by the prayers and support I have received! Please continue to pray for me ( and my sweet Macy) because I know how powerful prayer is!!!! Remember that no matter what lies ahead…God is already there!!!!

She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future. Proverbs 31:25

Dan Turner

Great day today! The trial produced positive results. Dan will undergo another day of trial testing tomorrow with a larger dose to obtain more objective results. Keep the prayers coming folks!  (Written by Ladd Turner)

Boots is home and back at work.  At his appointment yesterday, he learned he may never know what caused his problem, but he is doing well now.  The Prescotts appreciate all the love and concern shown to them during this difficult week.

Macy Gueldner, Mary Catherine Gueldner. & Martha P. Drago

Macy’s counts are very low, during a week where they should’ve doubled. I guess the increase in chemo finally caught up to her. So, her chemo this week is on hold. They’ll check again next week, and hopefully she can get back on track. She’s in good spirits; she just doesn’t have much immunity. So we’re hoping to stay germ free.As for me (Mary Catherine, Macy’s mom), my doctor ordered an MRI of my entire spine. He’s afraid I have ruptured a disc underneath my fusion. He said, “You are a tiny person, and Macy is not so tiny.” We’re both hoping that my lower back problem is just temporary. We’ll see…I have some good news: my mother in law (Martha) has only 4 radiation treatments before the end of her cancer journey 🙂

Friday Morning Bible Study

Yesterday, in Chick-Fil-A, I witnessed something I have never seen before at any restaurant or other place of business.  A worker was praying with a customer!  The young man is on fire for God.  This causes me to ask this question, “Why is this the very first time I have seen this?”.  We were impressed when we talked with him later.

Let’s use this day to answer the question, “Is My Master Satisfied with Me?”.

Tuesday

“In an acceptable time I have heard You,

and in the day of salvation I have helped You.”

~Isaiah 49:8a, NKJV~

(He hears.  Do we pray?)

Today, I have a few suggestions for our prayers:

  • Those working outside in the heat
  • Those traveling for pleasure
  • Those commuting to and from work like they do every day
  • Those in emergency rooms and doctor’s offices
  • Those at home alone, not seeing or hearing from anyone all day
  • Those who are caregivers
  • Those who are giving of themselves on mission trips
  • Those who are looking for a job again today
  • Those who are at the end of their finances before another check is due
  • Those who need medication but cannot get it today
  • Those who have roofs that are leaking
  • Those who have trees/limbs down and are unable to pick them up
  • Those who haven’t have any fresh vegetables this summer
  • Those who have no transportation to church, doctor, or stores
  • Those who need to hear about Jesus today
  • Etc.

I hope each of us will find someone who has a need and pray.  Sometimes, God will lay it on our hearts to help in an appropriate manner.  Listening, and then doing, is important in God’s plans for us.

Yesterday, I told you I was going to work on my prayer time.  I certainly had opportunities yesterday!!!  I know my prayers were heard.  My prayers for today will also be heard.  Yours will too!
