“Young” Ladies Birthday Party

FBC, Kentwood, we will be celebrating August birthdays this morning at Nyla’s at 11:00.  If you have an August birthday, please come.  If you do not have an August birthday, please come help celebrate.  We will have a great time visiting and honoring our ladies.

Please collect used, but still usable shoes, for us to contribute to Re-Store in Amite.  We are especially looking for children’s and men’s shoes.  You can drop them off if the baskets at the main and office entrances to the church.  Sunday will be the last day for you to do this.  During the month of September, we will be collecting used, but usable, school uniforms of all sizes.  You can drop them off at the baskets at the office and main entrances to FBC, Kentwood.  You do not have to be a member of this church to help with the project.

The Lucy Bible Study will begin this week.  Meet in the fellowship hall at 10:00 Friday.  Bring your Bible.  The study will not require homework of money.  Each lesson is on a new topic, so if you miss one week, you pick up with the next topic the following week.  Come laugh and study with us!

FBC, Kentwood is working on new children’s programs which will be beginning soon.  Contact the church office for more information.  You can also pick up a printed list of all the activities scheduled for the children and youth.

Looking forward to seeing what God has in store for those of us who live in the Kentwood area.

Homebound Lord’s Supper – Today at 4:30 member of FBC, Kentwood will divide into groups and travel to various places to visit some of our homebound.  This must be an awesome blessing to those who have the Lord’s Supper brought to them.  It is also a true blessing to be a part of this just by being present.  The homes to be visited and the deacon leaders of each group have already been established.  Pray for this to be meaningful to all.

Missions – The end of the month is fast approaching.  It will soon be time to deliver shoes to Re-Store in Amite.  Has your family contributed gently used shoes?  What about the children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in your family?  This would be a good time to work with other family members to go through closets and select shoes to share.  Collection baskets are near the main and office entrances of the church.  Please help the baskets to overflow with blessings for others.

Our next project for Re-Store will be school uniforms.  If there are any children who have outgrown their old uniforms and you are not passing them down to a family member, please begin to deliver them to the church to the same collection baskets by next Sunday.  If you are like me and have no local children who wear uniforms, please begin to pray for the families who will receive the uniforms.  Pray their hearts will be touched because others have shared of their abundance so the children of their families could be blessed through us.

Friday at 10 A.M., we will be beginning a new series of Bible studies based on the “Lucy” television program.  A  small segment will be the basis of the study each week.  There is no homework from one meeting to the next, but you are certainly free to take notes and to study deeper as God leads you.  I hope to see ladies from several different churches present each week.  I think studying the Bible together will bless all of us.  There is a sign-up sheet at the church.  You can also contact me in person or just show up Friday.  Come planning to laugh and to use that to evaluate your own life.  There will be no cost for this study.

The monthly “young” ladies’ birthday party will be Tuesday at Nyla’s at 11:00.  We will honor those who have August birthdays and have a good time eating and visiting.

Be a part of the Bible Study at your church today.  God’s plan is for is to meet with other Christians and to study His  Word together.

Have a great Lord’s Day!  Make this the most special day of the week.

Anna Lee

The “Lucy” Bible Study will begin one week from today at 10:00 at FBC,  Kentwood.  You will not have any daily homework and do not have to be a member of FBC, Kentwood to attend.  There is no cost for this study.  Let me know if you are interested.

Mission Project – Shoes for children, men, and women are needed at FBC, Kentwood.  They will be given to Re-Store in Amite.  Today and tomorrow will be good days to clean out some closets and help someone at the same time.  There are collection baskets inside the main door and the office door.  Next month we will be collecting school uniforms.  By now everyone should know if they have some uniforms that have been outgrown and are taking up space.  This will help you and help someone else.

Camp Living Waters, near Loranger, is in need of the following items.  Some of you may want to help our area church camp.  You can donate the items or you can give money to purchase these items.

  • Twin size mattress protectors
  • Bedspreads, not comforters
  • Glass salt and pepper shakers
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Paper goods

We can all be a part of missions!  Let’s do our part.

Bible Study – Don’t forget the ladies’ Bible study which will begin on the last Friday morning of this month.  It is based on the main character and clips from the “Lucy” series.  I’ve been previewing some of the material.  I have found great depth to the lessons which will be presented.  All ladies are invited to  attend and learn with us.

Missions – Heath Rohner of Re-Store said his greatest need is for shoes.  We are collecting gently used shoes to give him for his ministry in Amite.  If you have some shoes to share, drop them in a basket at FBC, Kentwood on Sundays or during the office hours during the week.  Our collection project for him next month will be school uniforms.  In the months following that we will collect jackets and blankets.  What a blessing you will be to some people in our area!
