Children in Action

Last night the children learned about missionaries who helped people purify water, put in wells, tutor children, and provided health supplies to those who are sick.  It was fun to watch them do activities and play games as they learned.  We also signed a birthday card for a MK and completed a candy craft.  Hurry up Wednesdays!

Packing Party

Plan to be a part of this special event Saturday at 6 P.M.

I’m as excited as a child looking forward to this Christmas (Party)!

Continue to pray for our country as we move closer to election day.

Operation Christmas Child is one of the greatest mission projects we do at FBC, Kentwood.  During the last few months, we have collected socks, hats, notebooks, flashlights, erasers, dolls, brushes, and many other items that we will pack into shoeboxes Saturday at 6 P.M.  Yesterday, we did one of our final tasks, filling zipper storage bags with candy.  I thank all who supplied candy and those who came to put the candy into bags.  What fun it is to think of children opening their boxes and finding their bags of candy and lots of other things. Most of all, I’m thankful we are packing Jesus into each box and providing children with the opportunity to learn about Jesus through classes that will be taught in the following weeks.  See you Saturday!

Thank you for reading and praying.  Also, thank you for all you do!

Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,

always giving thanks to God the Father for everything,

in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

David and I got to briefly visit Linda K. Graves yesterday afternoon in Kentwood.  Linda was released from Ochsner yesterday, after having two procedures which will hopefukky work for her.  She was home long enough to pack her things to go to live with her sister in Mandeville.  Linda cannot be alone in case her problem returns.  She has a wonderful attitude.  David was able to lead us in a sweet prayer.  She reminded me that she will be only a phone call away.

I have a confession to make.  I dearly love teaching Children in Action (missions) and helping boys and girls learn and do missions.  They are excited about helping to pack the shoeboxes on the 29th.  They have already spent their mission offering money to purchase needed items and given their efforts in preparing some of the items such as the school boxes that will be going in the boxes.  Plan to be a part of a wonderful night.  Wear your Christmas colors, bring a Christmas snack, and put on a big smile.  Your heart will be warmed!  We are still collecting individually wrapped hard candy.  It will be very helpful to have your donation in by Sunday.

Tonight, we gather at the cabin for our monthly Third Thursday gathering.  I look forward to seeing many of you tonight at 6:30.

Why so disturbed within me?

Update on Justin Lambert

Today couldn’t have gone better at MRC! Justin done OUTSTANDING 😍 the only thing that stumped him was not knowing the month and year he but other than that he got 100 A+ LOL He still doesn’t have a definitive date as to when he will be moving to MRC but as soon as we do I’ll let yall know. After the evaluation we went and ate lunch at the Cornerstone cafe in the hospital and just relaxed out of the facility for a while. Then to top it off, after lunch we wheeledJustin Lambertt over to UMMC’S NSICU unit and visited one of his Dr’s and several of his nurses. We will definitely have to go back for another visit after completion of MRC therapy to visit them again and visit the ones we didn’t get to see today. They were all speechless at the amazing improvements he has made. God has been so good to us!!!!!
On another note 😠 when we got back to Methodist Specialty Care we were discussing Justins trach with the head of RT. We’ve been thinking that he would be getting the trach changed to a cuffless trach Thursday to get prepared to take it out completely (bc that’s what we were told at the beginning of this month). Well once again the head of RT hasn’t even spoken to the Dr about it yet 😡 she is supposed to talk to him tomorrow but if not I will take matters into my own hands again and call the ENT I took him to last month and get this matter taken care of. One way or another I’m going to try to have it out by the time he goes to therapy so it doesn’t hinder his time there.
On behalf of our family I’d like to express how much each and every prayer, call, text, message, visit, and everything else you all have done for us means to us! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

Mr. Harlon Toney continues to be in need of our prayers.  He would appreciate yours.
Shira Easley has been transferred to Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe.  Please pray for Shira.
Jimmy Wall passed away.  At this time, there is still no obituary.

The Associational WMU meeting yesterday was  so touching/inspiring.  I am so appreciative of those who have worked so hard following the flood and those who continue to help others.  What a witness some of our area churches have been and continue to be!  Thanks, Osyka Baptist Church, for sharing your experiences from your heart.

There will be a church service at the old Presbyterian Church that is connected to the (Arcola Roseland) cemetery on October 30, 2016 at 5:00 PM.
