Obituary
Reginald Alan “Reggie” Covington
November 5, 1943 – June 20, 2026

A resident of Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at The Lodge at Tangi Pines in Amite. Reggie was born November 5, 1943 in McComb, MS and was 82 years of age. He is survived by his three children, Richard Wayne Covington, Todd Alan Covington and wife Jamie, and Laura Lynne Covington Matthews and husband, Brad; three grandchildren, Hannah Claire Covington, Cade Covington Matthews and Cooper Bradly Matthews; a brother, Dick Covington and wife Libby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Bridges Covington; and parents, George and Elva Covington. Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church of Amite from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Services conducted by Rev. Tim Barnes. Interment will follow in Tangipahoa Cemetery, Tangipahoa, LA. Pallbearers will be Brad Matthews, Cade Matthews, Brian Covington, Brent Covington (honorary), Cole Covington, Preston Hennington, Bransen Schwebel, and Bryan Spears. The family would like to thank The Lodge at Tangi Pines and Modern Hospice for their excellent care given to Mr. Reggie. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
