Donald Earl ” Straw Boss” Jenkins, Sr.
September 15, 1947 – February 19, 2022

A resident of Greensburg, LA, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, LA. He was born September 15, 1947 in Franklinton, LA and was 74 years of age. He was a volunteer fire fighter with North St. Helena Fire Department and served in the Navy. He retired from the police jury, was a truck driver and worked at East Louisiana State Hospital. He enjoyed fishing, riding on his side by side and his 4 wheeler. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a heart of gold and would always help anyone day or night if they needed him. He was an avid Nascar, LSU and Saints fan. On his CB radio he went by the handle of “Straw Boss”. He is survived by his children, Donna Jane Varnado and husband, Chris Varnado, Donald Earl Jenkins, Jr. and wife Joline Jenkins, Jason Jenkins and husband, Ellis Bonaventure; mother of his children, Bettie Bardwell and her husband, Reggie Bardwell; significant other, Betty Thomas; and her children, Chadrick and Channing Guyllette, Maranda Thomas, and Marisa and her husband, Caleb McAdams; 1 brother, Russell Jenkins and wife, Mary; 6 grandchildren, Ashley Howell, Jonathan Howell and wife Heather, Richard Howell and wife Ashley, Megan Hammock and husband Kyle, Cameron Jenkins and wife , Jamie, and Tristan Jenkins; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great-grandchildren; Preceded in death by his mother and father, Wilkie and Wallace Jenkins; brother, Wallace Jenkins, Jr.; Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Tuesday and from 11:00AM until religious services at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Services conducted by Bro. Jimmy Miller. Pallbearers, Tristan Jenkins, Cameron Jenkins, Caleb McAdams, Richard Howell, Jonathan Howell, and Channing Guyllette.
