Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home in for Charles Dudley Terrell, 72, of Columbia, who passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Interment will be at Hollywood City Cemetery in McComb, Mississippi. Rev. Bob Goolsby and Dr. David Millican will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home Chapel
He was born in McComb, MS, in 1948, and lived in Redwood City, CA for most of his childhood but spent many summers in McComb with his grandparents.
He was a retired minister, having served in five Southern Baptist Churches over his career of 35 years. He also taught Art Education with an emphasis in Art “Evangelism,” (sharing Christ while teaching art), in the church, school, prison, and Native American settings. As a young man, he was in the Navy and served his country as a naval aviator and he became a flight instructor in Pensacola, FL during the Vietnam War era. He will be fondly remembered for his love of Christ, of the church, and of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Terrell, his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. McKinley, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Albert Terrell, all of McComb.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wrenell (Bond) Terrell, his two children, Rebekah Roberts and husband, Tom, of Milton, FL, his son Robby Terrell and wife, Amber (Boutwell) Terrell, of Hattiesburg, MS, with two grandchildren, Claire Robert and Trey Roberts of Milton, FL; and three siblings; Steve Terrell of Plano, TX, Claudia Morris of San Ramon, CA, and Jennifer Disibio, of Livermore, CA, along with their spouses, children, and grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideon’s International.
