Thursday

“In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,

for You will answer me.”

~Psalm 86:7, NASB~

Please pray for KeriBeth Sitman, a member of FBC, Greensburg who is in Haiti on a medical mission trip.  This is not her first mission trip there.  Pray she will have a big impact on the children in the orphanage there.  Pray they see Jesus in her.

Debbie Miller is better than she was last week, but seeing doctors today and tomorrow.  Please continue to pray for Debbie and her family.

Mr. Burnell Simpson is home.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Mansell Stinson needs continued prayers as her foot continues to heal from recent surgery.

Miss Fay Shoemaker continues to improve following her shoulder surgery, but not as quickly as she (on any of us) would like.  Keep praying for her.

Kathy Dale Forrest is waiting for more test results.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Please continue to pray for Darrin Fontz and his family.

Mike Miller (We knew him while in Roseland and is not the one from Kentwood.) has improved slightly.  Please keep praying for him and his family.  Mike’s condition is still critical.  Mike is hospitalized in Brookhaven.

Koltyn Gafford seems to have a great desire to improve.  Among other things, he is working on standing up.  So is Rafe Cutrer.

Brantley Williams of Livingston is receiving great physical therapy at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.  Please keep praying for him as he recovers from a four-wheeler accident.

FBC, Greensburg is having VBS this week.  They are going all-out for the children who are there.  It’s not too late to join them tonight.  Call the church for more information.  The Lord’s Church is also having VBS this week at night.

Hatchel Family – Pray for the children as they complete their school week and as the family prepares to move from their home for the last year to a temporary location next month before their departure from the States next month.  Begin to pray for the move, travel, and what awaits them when they get “home”.

Fantastic News!  Bro. Gary Weiborg, former pastor in Roseland, will begin a new job Monday as a chaplain.  I know those of you who know him will be as excited as I am.  Please pray that God will use Bro. Gary to touch many lives.

Speaking of touching many lives, that was evident at the funeral for Dr. Derry Magee yesterday.  It was amazing to see the many dairy owners, business associates, and church people yesterday.  The were former members of FBC that I remember and some from before the time I moved here.  All the words spoken seemed so fitting and true with the Dr. Derry I knew.  The music was heavenly and so fitting.  Family members and friends shared special memories and Scriptures.  Everything was very personal and appropriate.  I’m thankful I was able to be there.  Dr. Derry touched my life when I first moved to Kentwood and again yesterday.  God was faithful to Dr. Derry.  Dr. Derry was faithful to God to the end of his life.

I must say The Lord’s Day was special for me – Sunday School, worship, VBS commencement at FBC, K , and worship at NZBC with evangelist Calvin Crow and his musically talented family.  I rode home telling David I learned two things about the familiar Scripture passage that I never learned before.  It was a good day!

Devotional, Scripture, and a Song

I intended to share this link yesterday, but now it seems like it was just meant to be shared with this devotional.

stevehorn.org/2015_06_04/do-something-every-day/

I think there is a lot of truth in that short and simple list.

1. Pray
2. Read
3. Listen
4. Learn
5. Lead

Be sure to read the rest.

We have put our hope in Him that He will deliver us again.”

VBS “Fun Run”

VBS “Fun Run” will end tomorrow night at FBC,K with a commencement program and begin today at 10:00 with a big kick-off at The Lord’s Church. What a great time of the year!

Macy Gueldner

You know you’re flexible when you can rub your eyes with your feet. Macy did this just before she took this picture. She had the nasty chemo yesterday, in addition to starting steroids. She already had a mouth full of swollen sores before yesterday’s chemo, and now she’s on her normal downward spiral. We’re trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. In true Macy fashion, she ignores most of the agony and rocks through each day with the most inspiring strength.
We’re on a camping trip this weekend, just the 4 of us, and we’re really enjoying our time together.
Much thanks sent from us to you, for your continued thoughts and prayers!

June 5, 2015 Friday
Feeling selfish. I just want our “normal” back. Doug must get good nutrition to be able to do his physical therapy and he is barely eating. I will try to do some exercises with him this weekend. ( move legs, ankles, arms in the bed) PT will be back Monday. My goal is for him to leave here and go to rehab. Please pray for him to meet that goal. Thank you and thanks for the cards. He enjoys them.
