Thursday

“Call to Me,

I will answer you,

and show you great and mighty things,

which you do not know.”

~Jeremiah 33:3, NKJV~

Continue to pray for Mr. and Mrs. James Miller.  Remember the upcoming blood drive.  Please call FBC, Kentwood at 229-8111 to sign up.  The blood drive will be January 24 from 9:00 to 3:00.

Continue to pray for Mrs. Tulie Dean who is still getting therapy at Hood Memorial.

Pray for Susan Rimes as she continues testing to determine which nerves are causing her problems.  Hopefully, this will give her some relief.

Please continue to pray for Harrell Sharkey as he prepared for surgery on Feb. 1.

David and I are very thankful and blessed to share that the spot in his lung is NOT cancer. Please continue to pray as cultures are grown to determine what the problem is.  One good thing we have learned is that David can go ahead with the ablation.  This morning he will be contacting doctors and “getting that ball rolling” again.

Also, Keith Womack is to have back surgery this week.  Let’s pray he will be relieved of the pain when this is done.

Please pray for the Blackwell family.  Mr. John Alan lost a sister-in-law.  She did not live here, but will be buried here Saturday morning.

  • No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back                                                             is fit for service in the kingdom of God.      ~ Luke 9:62~

Don’t forget the Bible study this morning.  It is a good day to join the group.

Wednesday

He put a new song in my mouth,

a hymn of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

Please pray for my friend, Margaret Caraway of Greensburg.  She has been having back and leg pain for some time.  Testing shows a disc problem.  Pray for her as she sees a specialist and learns what is ahead of her to make her feel better.

Mrs. Mary Nell Kliesch is still at North Oaks.  It seems she is making progress.  Please continue to pray for this sweet lady.

Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions We have reached 87% of our goal. Hopefully, we will soon be at more than 100%.  If you read The Prayer Link, you probably know that there is a great financial need to keep missionaries on the field.  Let give again, not focusing on the goal, but on the need.

“Miss” Susie was our friend for 30 years.  She has also been a neighbor for the last few years.  We loved her and will miss her, especially when we pass by her house almost every time we leave our house.  We were blessed to be a part of a group from the church that visited her for the Lord’s Supper September 2, 2015.  She sang every word of every song that night.  I will forever remember her blowing out a candle on a little cake I baked for her.  It was her 95th birthday!

Tuesday

You were taught,

with regard to your former way of life,

to put off your old self,

which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

to be made new in the attitude of your minds;

and to put on the new self,

created to be like God

in true righteousness and holiness.

Rev. Franklin Graham is conducting a 50-state tour – PRAY, VOTE, and ENGAGE –  of the country.  Tomorrow, Wednesday, he will be in Baton Rouge for a prayer rally.  If you would like be join him, be at North Boulevard Town Square, about three blocks from the Mississippi River, at noon.  I think it will be an event you will remember the rest of you lives.  I have wonderful memories of attending Rev. Billy Graham’s crusade meeting. If you can attend Wednesday’s event, you’ll surely be blessed, encouraged, and motivated.

but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape,

that you may be able to endure it.”
