Scott Womack‘s procedure for Friday was postponed until Tuesday due to a hospital emergency situation.  Please continue to pray for Scott’s procedure.

 

 

 

Carol Ann Cleveland was better today.   Please continue to pray for her.

 

 

 

Friends, John and Barbara Forshag, are quarantined.   She tested positive for the virus.  He was tested later and has no results yet.  Both are experiencing mild symptoms.  Please add them to your prayer list.

 

 

 

Sheryl Andrus Carnegie, formerly of Amite, has cancer.  Her recent trip to MD Anderson showed no cancer.  Pray she is in “remission”.

 

 

 

Travis A. Howes

September 30, 1935 – July 30, 2020

A resident of Loranger, LA, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at his home. He was born September 30, 1935 in Ponchatoula, LA and was 84 years of age. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Howes; 2 sons, Bryan K. Howes and wife, Carla, and Steven K. Howes and wife, Colleen; 1 daughter, Rene H. Dyer and husband, Trey; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Olga Howes; 3 brothers, Warren Howes, Stanley Howes and Alden Howes. Vivian Lambert Trabona

January 14, 1947 – July 29, 2020

Vivian Abiline Lambert Trabona, age 73, passed away peacefully July 29, 2020 in Covington, La. She was born January 14, 1947 in Independence, La. to Harrell and Audrey Faust Lambert. After graduating Amite High School, at the age of 18, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Nick Paul Trabona, on December 13, 1965. She also shared her love for her family as a wonderful mother and a loving and doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Vivian loved Christ and was a very active member in St. Helena Catholic Church. She had continuous faith in God’s Word. At home “her chair” was surrounded by biblical study books and scripture. Vivian was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Vivian is survived by her husband, Nick Paul Trabona, son, John Kevin Trabona, daughter Nikole and husband Tommy Shane Blalock, grandsons, Kevin Scott Trabona, Caleb Todd Trabona and Brittany Woods, 3 great grandchildren, Jacelyn, Kaden and Charla Grace Trabona. Also survived by her siblings, sister Bonnie Travis, brothers Lanis, Richard “Dickie”, Aubrey, Homer and Fred Lambert. Only surviving aunt, Mary Lambert Trabona. Predeceased by parents, Harrell and Audrey Faust Lambert. A mass in her honor will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at St. Helena Catholic Church, 122 South 1st Street, Amite, La. at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, Covington, La. HENRY SIBLEY, JR.

Henry Sibley, Jr. 73, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on July 31, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 15, 1946. Henry was a Hammond High School graduate and a 1967 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University. He was retired from Louisiana Weights and Measures and was also a retired dairy farmer. He served on the Tangipahoa Parish School Board for 10 years. He was an active member of Eagle Heights Community Church. He was a kind and gentle-natured person, whose greatest treasure in life was his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Robertson Sibley, two daughters, Robin Strahan (Roy), and Lisa Dunn (Kevin), and one son, Henry Sibley III. He is also survived by one brother, Nolan Sibley (Betty). He has eight grandchildren, Joshua Dunn (Sarah), Caleb Dunn (Bethany), Hannah Dunn, Roy Strahan III (Christian), Rhett Strahan, Caroline Sibley, Jenna Sibley, and Jack Sibley. His two great-grandchildren are Alyse Dunn and Ella Kate Dunn. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sibley Sr. and Sybil Miles Sibley.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the family has opted for a private funeral service to be held at Eagle Heights Community Church. This service will be conducted by Rev. Jimmy Robertson and Pastor Kevin Dunn.The service will be livestreamed at eagleheights.net at 11:00 am on August 3, 2020. Pallbearers will be his grandsons along with his good friend Fillmore Tucker. Interment will be at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

 

 

Spring Creek Baptist Church reports a great VBS.  Thank God for those who worked to make VBS possible and for the decisions that were made by the children.

Today, I’m asking for two more ladies who are both “daughters”.

  • Carol Ann Cleveland of Amite and a former classmate is hospitalized in ICU in New Orleans with a low sodium issue.  Please pray for my sweet friend.
  • Vickey Dean, wife of Charles Dean, formerly of Spring Creek.  Vickie tested positive for the virus, but has no symptoms.  He whole family has been quarantined.  Please pray for a “negative, all clear” test result.

 

 

Please pray for our country to get back on a track to greatness as planned by our forefathers.

Martha Bolian Griffith

July 08, 1953 – July 28, 2020

Mrs. Martha Bolian Griffith, 67, of Kentwood, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA.

Mrs. Martha was born in Tylertown, MS on July 8, 1953 and was the daughter of Rev. Fred L. Bolian and Stacy Waller Bolian. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kentwood, LA. She loved the church and loved the ladies of the church. She loved her family with her whole heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a selfless person. She put others before herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 46 wonderful years, Gerald Griffith of Kentwood, LA; one daughter, Melanie Harrell of Kentwood, LA; one sister, Karen Canoy and Stan of Hattiesburg, MS; two grandchildren, Gabriel Harrell and Victoria Harrell of Kentwood, LA and a host of family and friends.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dominick A. Fedele

May 25, 1941 – July 26, 2020

A resident of Kentwood, LA, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 in Kentwood surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 25, 1941 in Tickfaw, LA and was 79 years of age. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and worked many years for Exxon Mobile in Baton Rouge. His desire was to come back to Kentwood and be closer to family. In 1974, he decided to start a farm in Kentwood and later became a City Carrier in the Town of Kentwood for the U. S. Postal Service for 37 years. He is survived by wife, Bridgette Cutrer Fedele; daughter, Rachel Spitale and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Owen, Isabella, Noah, Alyssa, Lyla, Joni Claire, and Bearett Spitale, and 3 sisters, Vicky Stanley, Gloria Perilloux, and Loretta Morgan; 3 brothers, Pete, Sal, and Eddie Fedele. Preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Fedele; son, Don Aaron Fedele; parents, Basile and Victoria Fedele; 3 sisters, Josie Ritchie, Lena Wilson and Mary Giacone; 2 brothers, Joe and Mickey Fedele. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM on Tuesday and from 8:00AM until 11:15AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.   • Ora Lee Wilson called to ask for prayers for the Estes family.
    • Vince Estes is hospitalized with Covid-19.  He is very sick.
    • Several other members of the Estes are also sick, but at home.

Charles Patrick Rohner

  • September 15, 1967 – July 18, 2020

  • Lyons, Colorado

Charles Patrick Rohner, 52, surrounded by his loving family went to be with his Savior on July 18, 2020 at his home in Big Elk Meadows in Lyons, CO @ 1PM. He was born September 15, 1967 in Greensburg, LA.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jodie Wright Rohner of 7 years, married August 16, 2012. Also survived by his Father, Charles Leon Rohner and wife Leslie of Ponchatula, LA, His mother, Alice Lorriane Bailey of Hammond, LA. Charles has two wonderful brothers who he was very close to, Heath Rohner and wife Tammy of Roseland, LA and John Rohner of Hammond, LA.
Charles is also survived by his 5 loving children, Lauren Baker and husband Micah of Covington, LA, Brennah Rohner of Manassas, VA, Haven Rohner of Manassas, VA, Sydni Bougere of Ponchatoula, LA and Tucker Powell of Ponchatoula, LA.
Charles has a loving niece and nephew, Danielle Harvin and husband Schley of Amite, LA , and Devin Rohner of Roseland, LA.
Charles has wonderful in-laws that he loves very dearly, Robert and Vicky Blaze of Ponchatoula, LA, and Rodney and Marie Wright, of Shoals, IN.
He is also survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins that he held dear to his heart.
Charles is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Harmon and Alice Chapman of Amite, LA, and Clarence and Polly Rohner of Greensburg, LA. He was also proceeded in death by his beautiful Sister-in-Law Cynthia Elaine Wright of Hammond, LA.
Charles was a loving and kind soul. He had a great love of music and enjoyed playing his guitar. He loved adventure and doing new things. He was fun and loved spending quality time with family, friends, and co-workers. He also enjoyed reading and learning something new every day. Charles moved to Big Elk Meadows in Lyons, CO where he and his wife enjoyed hiking, fishing, and wonderful views of God’s creations. Charles was a proud Navy Wartime Veteran. He served his country during operation Desert Storm / Shield. He served his country proudly from 1989-1994 as an Interior Electrician on the USS Acadia AD-42.
The visitation of Charles will be from 11:00 AM-1:00PM on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, LA. Services will begin at 1:00PM conducted by Pastor Scott Boney also held at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
The family and Harry McKneely and Son, request that face mask be mandatory, and social distancing be observed, with extra caution being used in the presence of the family, dealing with their tremendous loss they don’t need the burden of being infected by the COVID Virus. Thank all of you for your cooperation.
