Today, let’s begin to pray for children (and adults) who work or play around water. It seems that as the weather warms up, more people lose their lives in our Louisiana waters. Of course, one good preventive measure is learning to swim. If you have the opportunity to teach someone, adult or child, to swim, please do so.
Dennis Walker stopped by for a visit this week. He said Kacey had shoulder surgery and was in the recovery stage. Pray all goes well for her.
The FBC, Kentwood nursery worker had rotator cuff surgery this week. That went well. Please pray for MelonIE as she heals.

Bobby Eugene Stephens
October 03, 1943 – April 04, 2021
Bobby Eugene Stephens of Bogalusa, Louisiana passed away at the age of 77 on Sunday, April 4, 2021, following a courageous battle with a debilitating disease. He was born on October 3, 1943 in Darbin, Mississippi to Ben and Iva Stephens. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Carrol Stephens, and sister, Geraldine Ratliff.
Bobby was a dedicated instructor at Sullivan Vocational-Technical School where he worked tirelessly as sponsor for the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA). His home office wall is covered with plaques recognizing him for his service to the students and organization. Bobby helped produce generations of successful leaders.
Bobby was a true sports fan. Some of his favorite activities were basketball, dirt track car racing, fishing, and bowling. He spent years as a Little League coach, going so far as to pick up kids who otherwise couldn’t make it to practices or games. Later in life, Bobby found a passion for golf and spent many hours on the greens with his golfing buddies. Of course, when he was at home, there was always a sporting event on TV.
But most of all, Bobby was a devoted family man whose true love was his beautiful wife, Barbara. Their relationship could only be described as a storybook romance, and their true, deep, unconditional love has inspired everyone who knows them. Bobby and Barbara were married for 57 wonderful years and had two daughters, who have continued their legacy of love.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Lambert Stephens, children Theresa (Frank) Glenn and Susan (Matt) Newman, grandchildren Kody Glenn, Nick (Lindsey) Glenn, and Miranda Newman, great-grandchildren Myles Glenn, Reagan Glenn, Mayson Bencheck, Adilea Riley, and Gavin Glenn. He is also survived by his former granddaughter-in-law Kristin (Bent) Bickham and sisters-in-law Patricia Lambert and Linda Lambert and as well as numerous nieces and nephews who looked up to him.
Despite his passing, Bobby will not be forgotten. His dry wit, kind, generous, and loving nature, along with his true heart of gold will continue to be remembered in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.

He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.”
~Hebrews 11:27 (NLT)~
I trust and hope all of you celebrated Easter in your own way. We no longer celebrate with Easter eggs or even chocolate. The highlight of our day was a Easter drama video! What special memories were brought back to our minds!
Please continue to pray for those around you. Each of us has a unique set of friends and family. There may be sickness, graduations, weddings, babies, new jobs, or any other events happening. Pray for God’s guidance and watch-care over each person on your list.
The Annie Armstrong offering is being collected for North American missions.

You will be so glad at the end of 2021 when you feel the sense of pride and accomplishment for reading the whole Bible, whether it is for the first or the umpteenth time. (Umpteenth – Used to emphasize that something has happened on many other occasions.)

Update on dresses made from shirts: At least four ladies took unfinished dresses home to work on them. One of the ladies said she has about 30 dresses. I’m anxious to get a good count. We’ll continue to work on them at least as long as it takes to get one for each of our “shoeboxes” for girls. Then, there will be a new sewing project.
It’s the Easter season. Jesus is the reason for the season! The reason we celebrate Easter is even greater than the reason we celebrate Christmas.
Prayer Focus for today:
Pray people understand the real meaning of Easter is not about candy, eggs, or even family gatherings. Pray families will be able to gather in heaven one day. That will depend on what happens here during our lifetimes. Share the significance of Easter this week. Pray for other families to learn the true meaning of Easter too.
